Thomas, and although the building was detroyed,
the said Safe sustained uo injury whatever from the
Intenso heat to which it had bceu exposed. On open
ing tbe Safe, tlio contents were found undisturbed,
and in tho saroo order and condition as when placed
there, excopt a slight discoloration to tho projecting
ends of a few papers, nnd tbe backs of one or two of
the books, caused by the steam generated iu the
Safe, while at its greatest heat.
Tho Bate and contents, as It came from the ruins,
may still bo scon, In the possession or Mr. Thomas,
at tuo Gas Works. A large assortment of these cele
