Copy of a Tlchborne Bond.
Through tho kindneas of Mr. Shultz,
of the London Store, of this city, we
have been permitted to seo a true copy
of an original Tichborne bond, issued by
Sir Roger Charles Doughty Tichborne,
so-called, for the purpose of providing
means for prosecuting his infamous suit
for tho recovery of the princely estate of
the celebrated Tichborne family of Eng
land. This suit, os our readers remember,
resulted in a non-suit of the imposter,
who now lies in Newgate awaiting his
trial for perjury.
Tho bond is a mortgage debeuturo,
neatly engraved, dated 17th April, 1871,
in favor of Archibald A. W. Yorke, Esq.,
of Richmond. Surrey, to whom the
Doughty Sii Roger promises to pay one
hundred pounds at 5 per cent., for the
payment of which he guarantees all his
estate, 4 'provided that no suit or other
proceedings shall bo instituted by
the holder until the expiration
of one calendar month after lie shall
have recovered possession of tho said
property, sums of money, estates, and
effects,” a contingency which the result
of the trial made quite unnecessary.
£JIe issued bonds of this class to the
amount of 100,000 pounds, all of which
ho tried to invest for tho purposes of
possessing himself of the maguificout
estate of tho Tichbornes.

US?-From the following, it will be
seen that the co-called Liberal Republi
cans in Georgia, as stated in our vester
day morniug’s paper, have been in con
sultation for two or thfee days iu this
city, resulting iu the appointment of
delegation to the so-called Liberal Re
publican Convention at Cincinnati.
It will be seen that none of Grant’s
office-holders have had anything to do
with this movomont. It is understood
that ex-Governor Brown — though he
does not expect to take any active part in
the coming canvass—sympathises with
the Liberal Republican movement, ap
proves of sending delegates to tho Con
vention, and the men selected.
We publish the following just as it
was prepared and handed in to us by
some of tho most promiuent men con
nected with the movement:
THE CINCINNATI CONVENTION.
After a full and fre* conference of a
number of leading Republicans in At
lanta, and an extensive correspondence
with those living in other parts of tho
State, it has been ascertained that almost
the entire mass of the nntivo whito Re
publicans of Qoorgia, desire universal
amnesty; a just and economical adminis
tration of the Government, and a return,
os nearly as possible, to tho old doctrines
and practices of tho wise ami patriotic
fathers of the Republic. They believo
that tho distinguished Republican lead
ers who have inaugurated the movement
for th©i Cincinnati Convention, have in
view these great objects, und they tberc-
fore^favor said Convention, to bo held
on the first day of May next. And they
have agreed upon the following gentle
men, who are members of the Republi
can party of Georgia, as their Represen
tatives in said Convention, to-wit:
Hon. Thomas P. Saffold, Morgan coun
ty; Ex-Governor Jamos Johnson, Mus
cogee county; Colonel E. Hulbert, Hon.
John D. Pope, J. C. Hendricks, Esq.,
Fulton county; Hon. Wm. Gibson, Rich
mond county; Hon. David B. Harrell,
Terrell county; Hon. J. H. McWhorter,
Oglethorpe county; Dr. W. R. Dell,
Cobb county; Col. Robt. M. Paris, Dado
county; Hon. J. W. B. Summers, New
ton county; Hon. John Harris, Newton
county; Col. John S. Fair, Union coun
ty; Hon. Wm. F. Bowers, Hart county;
Solomon L. Strickland, Paulding coun
ty; Chas. S. Hooks, Wilkinson county.
We were pleased to meet on our streets

Atmospheric Diseases.
Tho air, without which no creaturo conld live, is
tho aourco of diseaBca of which million* dio. At this
season, cspeoially, tho atmogphoro is fall of tho
germs of many kinds of sickness. Every globulo of
the mist and fog which cloud tho earth and sky in
spring, holds in solution its portion of miasmatic
poison.
Tho ovil effects of this acreal virus can only bo
certainly averted by increasing tho vital activity of
the system and securing tho full and froo exercise
of all it* natural functions, and hcnco it is,that llos-
tetter’s Stomach Bitters, tho groat nervo strengthen-
-, regulator and aulidoto to malaria, is imperatively
required in tho spring months.
It is at this time, too, that Dyspepsia assumes its
most distressing types, and that persons of bilious
habit usually suffer most There is an influsneo in
tho air which depresses the spirits as well as tho
physical energies, aud in order to rsstore their elas
ticity tonic treatment is absolutel) necessary.
AU the world knows that the wonderful cMcacy of
Hoatcttor’s Bitters iu cases of indigestion, bilious-
nervous prostration and malarious fever ia due
to tho potency of its tonic, alteraiivo and aperient
materials and the absolutely pure stimulaut with
which they are incorporated.
It is because the public have been taught by twen
ty years’ experience that tho article can be implicit
ly trusted—inasmuch as it performs uniformly and
certainly all that it is advertised to do—that they pre
fer this sovereign tonic to every other. Hcnco its
immense and over increasing sales, and hence, too,
alas! the many counterfeits and imitations, against
which there is no safeguard except the closo scru
tiny of tho purchaser.

roads opened for tho present, unless tome
emergency should arise. The road leading
from tho cross at Thomas P Calloway’s to the Wash
ington road, we tiud has heretofore boon neglected,
.mi wo rocommoud tho Commissioner* of that Dis
trict to put hands on said road and have it worked.
The roads generally are in good condition, consid
ering tho many rains during tho winter; stl’l there
many portions of the roads in bad order aud
needing immodlsto attoution, and wo recommend
and enjoin upon the proper authorities to enforce
the road laws, which aro fully adequate, if enlorced,
and havo all such bad places put in order, and es
pecially charge that tho Overseers put up signboards
at tho proper places on all the roads iu the county.
Wo recommend that the prosout system iu regard
to paupcrB bo continued.
We disapprove tho lato law of tho Legislature to
ostablish a County Court, so far as relates to Ogle
thorpe county; but wo rocomniond, at tho assem-
bliug of the next Legislature, that they give to us a
County Court similar to tho former Inferior Court,
with flvo Commission**, and that they also lnoroase
tho fees of Jusiices of the Peace, Constables and
Sheriffs, and also to reduce tho bonds of Constables;
and we recommend that G F Platt, B H Barnt tt, A
Witcher, JoliuT Hurt, and M W Johnson bo recom
mended to tho Governor , to be appointed as Com-
mtbsioners in said Court.
Wo recommend the Ordinary to levy such per
cent, on the Stato Tax as will raise about six thous
and dollars, which wo think will bo quite sufficient
for tho exponscs of tho present year.
Tho atteutlou of Justices of tho Poace is especially
calletL.to tho late law lu regard to keeping prope
books, and to present tho aama tothe Graud Jury at
tho regular terms of the Buporlor Court.
We very sincerely regret aud disapprove the very
extensive habit our citizens—young and old—havo
of carrying deadly weapons about their persons,
which is unlawful aud daugorous, and hope that
every good citizen in some wsy will uso his influence
to put a stop to so grest an ovil.
We recommend that tho Bailiff*, Win P Edwards,
receivo fifty dollars for extra sorvicos; and that JD
McCarty, Bailiff, receive twonty-flvo dollars for extra
services.
In taking leavo of his Honor, Judgo Andrews, we
ombraco this opportunity to express our thanks for
his kindness and courtesy to our body. «
Wo also tender to Samuel Lumpkin, Solicitor, our
thanks for tho salthfut discharge of his duty. $!9
Wo recommend that the foregeing presentments
bo published in The Atlanta Buk.

Wo, tlio undersigned, members of the Grand Jury,
respectfully dissent from tho recommendation of the

opinion, a public nccosaity ln this county, and
wo think the Jury should havo recommended its es
