Th. pulton loa.tjr D.lc,utl.n. Editors Sun: The action of the State Democratic Cun volition with regard to the Fulton county Democracy, waa such palpable outrage that, in joatioe, it ought to provoke a little eomment la it right or wrong to f neonrago the people to take an intereat in their primary poli tical meetinga? Are they expected to take thia intereat, if the assembled wis dom of tho party assume to rebake them without a hearing, when they appeal from the fraud and injoatice done them ? The Convention prooeeded regularly to the appointment of a oommittee to investigate the claims of the two sets of delegates. This committee reported that the evidence was “oonfiiotmg and oonfnsed," and recommended that both sets of delegates be admitted. This re port was unanimous. But a substitute was offered (by one not a member of the oommittee) to the effect, among other things, that there waa “no evidence that any fraud had been proetioed in the selec tion of delegates, or intimidation used to prevent a fall, fair and free ex pression of the choioe of the Democracy of said county,” and that one set of Delegates waa entitled to represent Ful ton county to the exclusion of the other. Now how did it appear that their was “no evidence of frawl, Ao ?" Had not the Committee to whom the matter waii specially referred, reported otherwise? Had they not said that the evi dence was conflicting and confused ? Then upon what could the Convention assume to contradict them ? Wbat is the basis of this avowed rebuke “of the ef fort at disorganization” in Fulton coun ty ? The facts are assumed and the as sumption contradicts the report of the Committee ? • hut we have not yet reaohed the oli- max of this oruelty and oppression to the Democracy of Fulton connty. The previous question is moved, and all the severity of eensnre and rebuke imposed, forbidaing one word in behalf of the rebuked. It is of course, in the estima tion of tho Convention of the State, a matter of small importance to have the co-operation of the Democracy of Ful ton county. However, if they have no desire for their co-operation, would it not be well to have some little regard for their feelings ? The “party lash” may bo a very useful political implement, but prudence aug ments that it be plied very cautiously. It s a matter of deep regret in this case, that this long used implement was furn ished from friendly hands, (misled thongh they were), but it wns at once seised by the impetuous Greeley bobky- ridprs, who took oooasiou to attempt to use it, as peoplo of that political party have always done, witli the usual in creased ardor of new converts. Bat the Fulton County Democracy do not intend to be whipped in in that way, as time will prove too soon, to a few restless o/tice-sei kcrs, on the “e ild hunt.” Fulton. Sly Visit to tbs St at. Democratic Con vention. Macon, Ga., Juno 27,1872. Editors Daily Sun: I have thus far returnod on my way home from attending yonr Convention— shall remain here to-day and to-morrow, and I now spend a short time in writing few things, which plonso publish in Tub Sun. It will gratify mo, if no ono else. While in your city I took occasion to visit its many attractions, and I am much pleased to notioo Us growing prosperity. If Atlanta continues to grow in tho fu ture as she bos in the past, she will soon attain metropolitan proportions. The many new enterprises now being inaugu rated throughout all portions of tho city will add much to her importance, and enhance her general appearance. I was gratified to hear many compli mentary remarks on the course of The Sun, iu defending und protecting tho rights of the peoplo. I was struck with the cordial hospi tality ol the people, and eapocially with management of the National Hotel. Its proprietors are elever, obliging gontlu- men, and conduct the National on a sys tem that j a certain to enauro them suc cess and popularity. The specie engagements for to-muriow’s steamers is S2,600,000. In the Stokes trial, to-dav, there was much cumulative evidence given, bat the following is the most pointed: W. F. Uedmond, the Hall Boy at the hotel, tes tified that Fisk asked him if Mrs. Morse, or daughter, were in, and followed him few steps, when he heard noiso, and looking up, saw Stokes at at the top of theBtoirs, whom the wit ness saw enter the hotel about ten min utes previous. Stokes was resting his left elbow on the banister, with his right hand raised, with a pistol in it Stokes fired two shots and Fisk staggered back, leaning against the wail. The Jims* says: “Tho decision of tho Tribunal of Arbitration is ominontly sauslsctory to all Englishmen, and Americans ought to be grateful to tho Arbitrators, who havo proved themselves the true benefactors of both England and America. The man who lescued America from discredit is Charles Francis Adams.’’ The .Veins says: “The result of the in direct claims controversy, is a great tri umph for tke firmness and patience of the British Ministry.
