The question of admitting negroes into the Order of flood Template u at tracting general attention among the friends of the Order, and is being dis cussed in the Grand Ledge Meetings itr the Slates. It was agitated in tos late meeting of the Grand Lodge of Georgia, lately held at Home, wbioh deolared in favor of organising negro Lodges, sepa rately under a different Bitusl. We see that the same action wag taken by the Grand Lodge in Kentucky, a few days ago, which adopted a resolution au thorizing the 0. W. 0. T. to appoint a suitable person to psapare a ritual for the asolaatve use of colored Good Templars, in separate and distinct lodges, chartered by and subordinate to this Grand Lodge. Under this resolution Dr. H. A. M. Henderson was appointed .to prepare an appropriate ritual, and the Executive Committee was authorised to make a suitable allowance for preparing the same, aa also for printing the ritual ia the usual book form. This ia right. Let the colored people have the full benefit of all snob benevo lent societies and organizations aa flood Templars, or an; other, for the improve ment or bettering tne condition of man kind; but let the commingling of I races be kept distinct. It is beat for both whits and black, and' will far more et- floientiy promote the welfare of tne black race. Let the while man extend a help ing band in all such measures aa (his.— Lot his kindly fostering care watch over ana encourage the blacks in all each efforts to do good to them and their race. They need ear eounseia and guidonoe. Let it not be withheld, but freely be stowed in carrying out the plana recom mended by the Georgia end Kentucky Grand Lodges. Tbs Grand Lodge of Good Templars of Kentucky, at its session a few days ag s appointed delegates to a World’s Convention of Good Templars to assem ble iu London in May next. The attempt of Alexander Dillon, of Savannah, on Friday last, to kill hit father, and the taking his own life, created a sensation there, and fills the pnpem with aaminta of the terrible af fair. Thousands of people in Georgia knew Oapt David B. Dillon, n wealthy gentle man, a large real estate owner and a broker, who has been very aacoecaful in business. Ha ra llied in the negative, and stated that he isd considered the matter, and desired to change hia faith, that he wikhed to die a Catholic, and requested that a iiriest be summoned to hia bedside.— ! One conversation seemed to affect him greatly, and be soon dropped into a sort of stupor. Father Dominick was sent for, end soon strived. He approached the dying man, who appeared to revive considerably at the sight of him, and inquired it he knew who be waa. The aocesiud replied yea, that he waa a Cetholio priest, and' expressed an earnest desire to join tbe Oatholio Church, stating that he knew he waa dying. We are informed that the presence of the priest bad a very re markable affect upon him, and that he rallied to snoh an extent aa to be able to •it np in bed and oonverse. Hia wish wat complied with, and he waa solemnly inducted into membership of tbe Cetholio Church. He died within a short time afterwards, apparently perfectly at ease in mind.
