Before 10 o’clock a large crowd was thronging the various yarta of the grounds and the several halls. On Saturday morning the had very fine ooffin ortiored, and the body was removed from the other and plaoed in that BBS FUNERAL * took place yesterday morning at half- past ten o!clock from tho reeidenue of the mother, and was largely attended. The remains were buried on the place of Mr. T- J. Walau, eituited on the Middle Oronnit Road, a short distance from the city. This information is correct as it was furnished by the mother herself. CONDITION OF THE WOUNDED MAH. The report! tbit Dillon, Sr., wsa suf fering greatly from hia wounds, we learn, is incorrect. He is said to be getting along very well, and it is expected will be ant in a few d^ia. Ha is at present at a house out on the road known as the Belay honse. STATEMENT OF THE MOTHER OF THE DE CEASED. We received a request last evening from the afflicted mother to oall at her bonae, and ia oomntianoe therewith we proceeded at 81 o’clock to her residence to saoertain the object of her request. Sha seemed solicitous about oertain re ports that were circulated to tho effeot that her deceased son had threatened the life of hia father previous to the recent difficulty. She emphatically dimes this, and aaya that on the morning in question she had gone down to her husband’s office to consult him in regard to some domestic matters, when, in tbs coarse of con vernation, he called Alexander Dillon "a d—d puppy.” This excited her anger, and she rebuked him for it, when he told her to go home. She shortly after left and returned to her honse, where she met her deceased son. On the impulse of the moment she said to him, “Alex ander, yonr fatner called you a d—d m . She states that the boy seemed it deeply, and made some reply about hia father disgraoing the family. He then said he was going down town, and she inquired it he waa going to his father’s offioe. Ha replied he thought not He did not make any threats on hearing of his father’s remarks, and bis mother asserts that she never knew him tuoarry-*.pistol or weapon «f any hied. She spoke of the deceas d as a remark ably quiet, peaceably disposed boy, very reticent in hie disposition, and perfectly oontented when engaged in mnBical ex ercises, of which he was passionately fond. This discription of the vonth's aha raster wm also corroborated by sever al neighbors who were present at the interview. THE OAT78E OF THE TROUBLE, We were informed, dates about three years back, since which time her hoe- band has not been living with her regu larly. This was brought about by the discovery that the husband and father had been lured off by n yonng woman to whom the wife says she was particularly kind, and baa assisted in many ways, bnt that events proved she was making "n stick to break her own head.” The son Benjamin, who is now in Mont gomery, was ineensed at this, and one morning visited the domicile where tbi i womui wae staying and cleaned oat the estahtlshment, driving her away. This caused a rapture in the family. Toe son was furnished with 8100 and sent off with instructions not to write to his father for money. His mother says, however, he wrote to her regnlariy. Since that time, things had not gone on pleasantly. Her husband cat down her sllowanoe and bestowed npon the other woman mentioned things previously giv en to her. Bba states that some times her indignation would get the bettor of her and she would visit the plaee where this woman was staying and use uer tongue freely. About two weeks since she states she was on the place when David R Dillon SNAPPED A PISTOL kT HER POUB TIMES. This was probably done to frighten her, as she says she understands the pistol was not loaded with ball — but sbe saw the flashes and heard the reports. On an other occasion a woman, she aaya, fired at her thiongh the window of the honse, whom sne baa every reason to believe was the person in question. Sbe further states that her h ns band told her sbe had better keep away from that place as “Jenny (the name of the woman) could shoot,” She denies the reports that sbe carries a weapon or baa ever sought the Me of this woman, although she l.ad abused her. Some time sinoe she says she waa burned with kerosene oil, and wsa considered in a dangerous condition. While ill she says this woman visited her and said to ber “Mammy Dillon, I thoegbt you would die shd then i would get ‘poppyDillon.’” These ere tho main features embraced in het statement, ihich bear npon the reoent unhappy occurrence in her family. Sne expressed no ill feeling towards her husband, .whom she aaya has beon kind to ber In the past, and for that she is grateful. We give the above statement, as mad to us, whiott embodies the anbstanoe of the distressed motlmr'i remark; , altough we present it in a more oonntoUd form. The interview was sought by her, in or der that false reports which she believed were drenlated concerning herself and deceased son, mightbeoorrocted through ber own statement.
