Bradley bad Collector Jamo < Atkins, and
Treasury Agent, It. H. Hale, arraigned
before D. 8. Commissioner Wayne, on
the charge of a vioution of the enforce
ment act. A notice of this highly cr d-
1 table allair appeared in our oolumns of
yesterday, and the reader is therefore
•dviaea of the main points of 'he oue.
The warrants, whioh were iasned by jus
tice Isaac Russell, at the instance of
Bradley, charging the parties with as
sault end buttery, were not ixecut d on
■countof want of jnriadietion. Brad
ley th-xetore bad the parties brought be
fore the Commissioner on the charge
mentioned above.
— Bradley waa awoin, and made bia
atateasent of the fracas, which ta‘lies in
the man with tbe aooount given in tbo
Xeece. We give the particulars, how
ever, as sworn to by Bradley. He says
whan he Hale's room, which waa
set apart an a general depot for distribu
ting tickets, he asked for another supply.
Hide laid: “Yon can’t get any tickets
here, you Q—d d—n s , get ont of
my offioe.”
Bradley—“I mid, what did von my?"
He repeated it, amLadvauced towards
me; as th-ee words were passing vio
lently, Mr. Sloan came to the door and
mid: “What’s the matter? and then
disappeared, and in about a minute Col.
Atkina name in and pat bis band on my
shoulder and poshed me in tbe door; Mr.
Sloan esme in sad Atkina said: “Shut
that door;” I stood so that Mr. Sloan
could not ehnt the door, when he pushed
me one aide and abut the door; Col. At
kins then said: “You are working
against as; yon are keeping voter* away
from the polls." I denied it—when At
kins mid: “Yon are a bar, you d—n
a—, and grabbed the poker io it-iko
me, when Mr. Sloan interfered and
■topped him. CoL Atkina laid he would
not have me aronnd; tost he would turn
me ont of offioe, and I mid, pay me; he
mid, “pay and be d— d, clear out oi
here.”
Mr. Andrew Sloan waa sworn, and tea.
tilled a* to his action in the matter. He
stated that Bradley waa very abusive to
Mr. Hale, was excited, refused to learn
when requested, waa boisterous, and waa
attracting a load crowd; that Bradley
mid vxnething to OoL Atkins which be
(Sloan) did not bear, when Atkina jdeked
up the poker; heard no conversation be
tween Bradley and Col. Atkin i about
taming oat of office, bat beard Bradley
my, ae he waa leaving, that if he was
paid np laftaU be would willingly go.
Alter considering the ee»e tie Opto
nWoner decided that Bradley bad fail
ed to mstain bis charge, and therefore
dismissed the accused officials. The
“ Wahoo.” however, la worked up now,
