Last Sabbath, at the conclualon of his sermon, Rev. 0. A. Evans, pastor of Trinity church, announced that the chursh had under ita charge a Mission Sunday School, far out on McDonough street; and, that an entertainment for the good and the pleasure of tha children would be given in the little house where ita sessions are held, to-morrow (Wednesday) night, which, he urged the congregation, ali, nn far as possible, to attend. "Iu speaking of the school, the interest which clustered around It in the breasts of those benevo* lent spirits who watched over and kept it up, he stated that nearly all the children attending that school were very poor, and were, in a great meas ure, the children of widows, and men- timed as a striking fact, that in on* class of toys in that school, when lately the pa,tor himself, was questioning them, taking their names, he., in order to know who they were, where they lived, how eltusted, employed, he., he found Cist every member of the class, without exception, had no Cither-a’1 the boob of widows who ware poor; and the teacher of the class remarked that hr knew how to sympathise with them, as he, too, was fatherless, and had a widowed mother who was poor.
