Spring Colds
Are the Worst
They lead to catarrh and
pneumonia. They weaken the
entire system and leave it un
able to resist the sudden
changes. They interfere with
your digestion and lessen your act
ivity. Neglected they soon become
that dread disease known as sys
temic catarrh. Don't neglect them.
It's costly as well as dangerous.

Nature the help she needs to throw

CAR FOREMAN HAS
GAINED 20 POUNDS

Had Pains Around Heart That
Caused Him to Lay Awake
at Night and Would Be A
fraid * ■> to Sleep.
v
When J. A. Golliher, general
car foreman of the Illinois Cen
tral railroad, who lives at 808
North 18th street. Birmingham,
came into Jacobs Drug Store
and told about his remarkable
recovery, through the use of
Tanlac, he added his name to a
iong list o r ' railroad men who
have come out and endorsed
this great medicine.
"I’ve been a sufferer from in
digestion and gastritis.” said
Mr. Golliher, ‘‘for a good many
years. My stomach was as sour
as vinegar nearly all the time
and my food would hardly di
gest at all. Whenever I would
eat any supper I would nearly
always have to vomit it up and
it would be so sour that it would
actually burn my throat. I had
to be mighty careful w r hat I did
eat and this kept me bothered
all the time, for I knew' I would
have to eat to keep my strength
and get along.
‘‘Gas would form and my
stomach would swell up and
give me the worst kind of feel
ings. I had a pain around my
heart that caused me to lay a
wake at night. To tell >ou the
truth I was afraid to go to sleep
because I did not know what
that pain was caused from and
I was afraid that it might get
serious while I was sleeping.
“I began to lose in weight un
til I fell off about twenty-two
pounds and I simply felt bad all
the time. I kept right on work
ing, but I don’t believe I could
have stood any hard work. I
had several doctors to see me,
but nothing did me any good.
My condition kept me worried
all the time and especially the
pain around my heart.
“I saw in the paper one day
about a fellow who seemed to
have the same trouble that I
had and he said that Tanlac
had made a lew man out of him
so I bought i bottle and began
on it. RighVvrom tha first I felt
a change the good, because
I could eat.and it would not
sour on my snimach and I knew
that I had the right medicine.
“I kept o n faking this Tanlac
just as the directions said and
now I have finished my seventh
bottle and am nearly back to
my normal weight. In fact I
have gained twenty pounds,
which is only about two pounds
below what I weighed before 1
had this trouble, and I beleive
I will get those two before I get
through.
“The pain around my heart
has disappeared altogether and
I feel better than I have in a
good many years. I certainly
do eat a plenty now and don’t
have a bit of trouble digesting
it. I sleep just as sound as a
baby at night.and get up in the
mornings feeling strong and
ready for a good day’s work.
“I am glad to recommend
Tanlac to anybody with, the
troubles I had, for I believe it
will cure them if they will take
4. lam mighty glad I took it
and I am glad to have this op
port-nity to tell others of the
benefit I got from it. I honest
ly believe that Tanlac is the
greatest medicine that was ever
brought to this country.”

Maintain High Ideal*.
The most difficult problem that any
human being bag to solve Is the pro
ventlon of an insidious lowering of hia
standards. It is so easy to grow a
little careless about personal appear
ance, to be a trifle less particular in
discerning the difference between right
and wrong, to drop into habits of neg
lect. in small matters that were once
consider,! duties, that gradually ths
whole life has slipped to a lower plare
before one is aware. The lowering of
Ideals along any line means a lower
