In Loving Memory
Of our dear father, Jasper
Gnvitt who departed this life
July 22nd 1917. lie was 61
years of age.
On Sunday morning as we all
gathered around his bedside to
see him breathe his last oh. how
our hearts did ache to think we
could have father with us no
longer. He died as he lived
trusting in God until the Lord
saw fit to call him from this
earthly home to his heavenly
home. He leaves six children,
a wife, 18 grand-children, two
sisters and two brothers and a
host of other relatives and
friends to mourn his loss twit
our loss is his eternal gain.
He bore his suffering with
out murmuring although he did
not suffer long and he was read
y to go when the Lord called
foe him. We know father is in
heaven but how we miss him
and long to see his sweet face
again but bye and bye we will
meet him on the otlier shore
and clasp his hands once more.
It is sail to think we can never
meet in this world again but it
is sweet to know’ we can meet
in heaven never to part again.
It makes our hearts sad to think
of dear father for he was kind
and affecionate and loving com
pan ion and neighbor but the
Lord who doeih all things after
his ov n will knew best when to
take him away and now he is
with the loved ones who have
gone on before enjoying the
songs of Zion and beckoning
friends to come and we know if
we live as we should when this
life of sorrow and disappoint
ments is ended we will meet in
heaven where sorrow and part
ing are no more.
A precious one from us is
gone, a voice we loved is still,
a place is vacant in our home
that never can be filled but all
will be glory w'hen we take dear
father by the hand then we will
shout forever with the angel
band, v/e loved him yes we lov
ed him but angels loved him
best and they sw r eetly called
him to yonders heavenly rest.
