Cancer Society share information
One of the goals of the Forsyth
County American Cancer
Society is to get more informa
tion directly to residents who
live in the community about the
fight against cancer. This is
being demonstrated by the
growth of awareness meetings
and presentations throughout
Forsyth County.
St. Mario Women’s Club
recently tapped into the aware
ness and educational benefits of
learning about what is happen
ing in Forsyth County through
the American Cancer Society.

Kennesaw State
University
Top students at Kennesaw
State University are listed on
KSU’s winter-quarter
President’s and Dean’s lists.
To make the President’s List, a
student must maintain a perfect
4.0 grade-point average. A
grade-point average of between
3.5 and 3.9 is necessary to make
the Dean’s List.
Kennesaw State, located off 1.75
.75 and Chastain Road, Exit 117,
is a unit of the University
System of Georgia. The enroll
ment is about 14,000 students.

A total of 1,997 students has
been named to the University of
Georgia winter quarter
Presidential Scholars List and
2,338 have been named to the
Dean’s List.
The Presidential Scholar des
ignation recognizes undergradu
ates who have scored a perfect
4.0 grade point average during
the quarter.
Nomination to the Dean’s List
means a student has earned a
3.5 grade-point average or high
er out of a possible 4.0.
Both designations require that
students take at least 12 hours in
courses numbered 100 or higher
and receive no unsatisfactory or
incomplete grades.

Diana Buntin, to give firsthand
information at one of their
monthly meetings on what is
expected in the local community
from upcoming events such as
the Relay for Life ‘97 May 16
and 17 at Forsyth Central High

Who’s Who
Fifty-three State University of
West Georgia students have
been selected for inclusion in
the 1997 edition of “Who’s Who
Among Students in American
Universities and Colleges” as
national outstanding campus
leaders.
These students were chosen
based on their academic
achievement, service to the
community, leadership in
extracurricular activities and
potential for continued success.
They join an elite group of stu
dents from more than 1,900
institutions of higher learning in
all 50 states, the District of
Columbia and several foreign
nations.

Dean’s List
The State University of West
Georgia named 763 students to
the winter quarter Dean’s List,
according to Dr. Thomas J.
Hynes, Jr., vice president for
academic affair.
To be placed on the Dean’s
List, a student must complete
the quarter with at least a 3.5
grade point average out of a
possible 4.0, while carrying a
minimum 15 quarter hours.

Georgia is a senior college unit
of the University System of
Georgia.
