Sheriff’s department incident report summary

A Ball Ground resident is facing
eight alcohol and traffic-related
charges after wrecking his car dur
ing a chase with Sheriff’s Office
deputies late Sunday night.
According to Sheriff’s Office
reports, Luke Edward Baugher, 31,
was driving his 1989 Mazda MX6
* west on Ga. Highway 369 when he
approached a deputy who was writ
ing another driver a ticket.
Baugher reportedly slammed on
his brakes and turned his Mazda
around to run.
Deputies pursued the car to the
intersection of Hwy. 369 and Ga.
Highway 9, where Baugher lost
control and slid off the road.
■ His car flipped and landed on the
roof.
Baugher was taken to Baptist
North Hospital for treatment of
minor injuries, then transported to
jail.
Deputies found several beer cans
in and around the wreckage of his
car.
Baugher is charged with driving
under the influence, reckless dri
ving, driving with no license, fleeing
and attempting to elude an officer,
driving on the wrong side of the
road, open container, violation of
seat belt requirements and violation
of head light requirements.
He also has an outstanding warrant
from the Doraville Police Depart
ment on unrelated charges.
Other incidents reported to the
Sheriff’s Office include:
• l\vo 19-year-old Forsyth County
residents were arrested April 8 when
they were caught with paint pellet
guns they allegedly used to vandal
ize several vehicles in the area.
According to the report, Tracey
Lynn Sizemore and Kenneth
Eugene Brown admitted to vandal
izing five vehicles on Keith Bridge
Road with a Talon paint gun. The
suspects were caught after one of
’ the vehicle’s owner saw them shoot
ing his car and chased them.
• Six nail guns were stolen from a
1 Cactus Drive residence on March
4 31. According to the report, it is
believed the tools were taken by an
employee who quit the same day.
• A 1979 Chevrolet Corvette was
£ stolen from a Shady Grove Road
residence on April 3. The car is
** white with T-tops and Ga. tag
J. 4 969MYF.
«. • Two record books were stolen
? from Sunnyfarm Stables, a Hwy.
\ 369 company, between March 13-
20. According to the report, the
books contain several hundred
names and phone numbers of
* clients. It is believed they were
J stolen by someone with access to
the stable offices, states the report.

• A 1961 Chevrolet pickup truck
was stolen from Midway
Automotive, an Atlanta Highway
company, between April 3-6. The
pickup was for sale. It is yellow with
Ga.tag 1698PZ.
• More than $8,200 worth of tools
were stolen from the Simpson
Bridge Company, a Bennet Road
company, between April 3-6. The
tools were in a trailer on the proper
ty. The trailer’s lock was found in

states the report.
• A 1995 Regal Bowrider boat was
stolen from a corps of Engineers
boat dock between April 4-5. The
boat is a white and aqua Ventura
style. It is valued at $42,000.
• A 1998 Honda TRX3OOW four
wheeler was stolen from the bed of
a truck parked at a Crow Drive resi
dence between March 3-4. The keys
to both vehicles were on the steering
column of the truck but were not
taken, states the report.
• A Striker marine radio-telephone
was stolen off a boat docked at a
Little Mill Road address on April 8.
It is valued at S9OO.
• Someone broke into the
McFarland Road Quickmart
between April 8-9 and stole all the
coins from a video poker machine.

• A look out was issued for a
Hispanic male after an afternoon
purse snatching in Tri-County Plaza.
Sheriff’s Office spokesperson
Karleen Chalker said a 45-year-old
Gwinnett County woman reported
the incident to IVecinct 1 after she
was attacked while getting out of
her car. According to the woman’s
statement, she was turning around to
lock her door when the suspect
grabbed the purse. The two strug
gled. She let go when he shoved her
against the side of the van. The
woman said the suspect ran behind
Publix. She searched for him for
about 15 minutes, but was unsuc
cessful. The suspect is in his late 20s
to early 30s and has a stocky build.
He was wearing a white shirt and
possibly had a T-shirt on under
neath. He had on blue jeans and a
black baseball cap.
