Wills Park busy on weekends

entertainment this spring? Wills
Park Equestrian Center offers a
wide variety of events from barrel
racing to show jumping.
Most admission to the events arc
free to the public and offer chil
dren a chance to see show horses
in action.

The “Cowboys and Yuppies” event at Wills Park on April 4 combined barrel! racing, calf roping and
polo. The park is filled these days with events like this. Wills Park is off Ga. Highway 9, just south
of Alpharetta on Willis Road. A concession stand is usually available.

28, May 12 and May 26.
Hunter/Jumper classes, where
horses jump a series of fences
ranging in height, will be held
April 25-26, 29-30. May 1-10,
May 30-31 and June 6.
In addition. North Fulton 4-H
will stage a show April 19 and the
Rolling Hills Saddle Club will
hold shows April 18 and May 16.
A draft horse show (these are the

bigger horses that pull carriages,
like the Budweiser horses) will be
held May 23.
For those who like action, bull
riding will be June 5-6 and the
Atlanta Equestrian Society will
hold a gymkhana May 17.
