A PROCLAMATION.
W£iEREASI good and fufficient information hath been
received that a certain banditti of run away Negroe
men, who have been out-layers before and fmce the evacua
tion of the town of Savannah,, have lately, embodied thtm
felves, and have with arms opposed the militia that have been,
ordered out to suppress them, and have also committed sun
dry depredations, ion the property of the inhabitants of the
counties of Chatham and Effingham: I HAVE THEREFORE
by and with the advice and consent of the Honorable the
Executive Council, thought fit to issue this my Proclamation,
hereby offering a Reward of Ten Pounds for each of the laid
run-away Negroe being brought to trial, or good and
fufficient proof before a Magistrate, of each or either of the
l|id run-away Negroe men being killed..
GIVEN under my hand and the great seal of the said
Rate, at Augtifta, this twenty-firft day of December,
in the year of our Lord one. thousand seven hundred
and eighty-fix, and of our sovereignty and indepen
dence the eleventh.

this day, with its enclqfures, was received and read : Where

may have been taken or died in affcual feryice will properly

AGREEABLY to the foregoing Order of the Honorable
the Executive, all claims against the state for horses
taken or died in a&ual fervicc, or pay rolls for militia duties
performed, are requested to be given in without delay.
Also the Officers of the General Staff are requested to re
port their several departments immediately to

THE Port from the towu of Wafliington in Wilkes
Comity to Augusta, will arrive here this evening, and
will set out to morrow for Wafliington. It will continue to
ride weekly during the present year. All letters left with
the Printer of- this paper for Wilkes County will be fafely
conveyed* And thpfe left at Henry Moungers in Wafhing*
ton, will be conveyed weekly to Augusta, under certain re
gulations which can be seen at the Printing. Office.

THE paitnerfliip of FORSYTH 8c MEALS-having ex
pired, ail persons indebted thereto for dealings m their
(lores, or for lands and lots at Galphinton, fold at the Au
gusta Races last November, and at Wilkes and Wartiingtoa
elections in December, are requested to make payment to
Robert Forfyth, who will fettle all legal demands against the
said concern,

LOST.
ON the night of the 2d. instant, a black leather Pocket
Book between Augusta and the Sandbar, with sundry
papers of use to no person but the Subscriber, amongst which
are Geo. Jones Esq’s. certificate for one hundred and fifty
Pounds, Mr. Geo. Peter Wa.nheddeghim’s Note for twenty
eight Pounds, an order 09 Thomas Cole, Esq. a Note of John
Fears’s and a Note of E. Arvices, and many other papers. As
the payment of the whole is (loped, the person who will de
liver it to the fubfcribeC with the papers (hall receive eight
dollars Reward.

JACK & DOUGLASS'having expired, all persons
indebted thereto are requested to make immediate payment
to Samuel Jack, who will attend at his Compting-Houfe, in
Augusta, in Broad-street, (where Mr. Thomas Graves late
ly resided) to fettle all legal demands against the said con
