A Strange Case.
Our attention has Leen called to the
case of a young girl about 14 years of
age, who says she was brought from
Ma on by a worn in claiming to be the
wife o! a minister and was placed in a
house on Ea-t Boundary S reet. Fr m
conversation with the girl it seems that
certain parties who visit the house are
of a ques-tionab'e character, which she
says is distasteful to her. She left the
the house and was liken in out of the
streets by a prominent white lady who
seems in the p >or girl's con
dition, Our report r called at there>i
deuce of this l,dy and iutei view d the
young girl who was confined to h< r be I.
She says that she had attended Spi li
ra-n’s Seminary, Atlanta, tor eightc n
months and from hr c nversition,
seems to be quite intelligen', Iler
wearing apparel indicates a person who
was properly brought up. She Slid
that she was raised by Mrs. Emma
J tcksou of Macon, who had paid her
expenses while at the Seminary where
she was just about returning when the
curious trip to this city was made. She
also said that she is known by the name
of Juliette Hardley, but is sometimes
called Ella Bixter. We have interest
ed our sympathies in this poor unlor
tuhate girls behalf as a step perhaps to
save her from ruin. Whether this is a
case of abduction or not we do not
know but hope this article will meet
the attention of some of her friends
who will interest themselves in her be
half, as she seems to need the advice of a
friend and counsellor.
