Burns family.
Even the words of the vari¬
ous police officers did not
agree with others- One tried
to say that the dead man and
his brother were d/rink, while
another said they were not, for
example.
The controversial incident
occurred the morning of Aug-
22, following a dance at La
Vada dance hall. In the early
hours of the morning, it seems
that Herman Burns , alorv;
(with his brothers, John and
Julius, got into trouble in the
dance hall and were involved
in a fight.
It ended with police officer. 1
and two Negro special
men from the Paramount
