The affair was largely attended and the minister and his wife were the recipients of many useful gifts After a befitting program, Mrs M L. Due to the revival services at Bethlehem church next month, the union will meet at Tremont Baptist church Fairmont Bapt. Church Sunday school opened at the usual hour With acting Supt Robert Feelings in charge. At night there was a program ir, which the junior choir was in charge. Evangelical Minsters Union The evangelist, Dr. June Booth of Houston, Texas, was guest speaker at the union on r f uesday and gave a timely message on soul saving. Rev. D T. Babcock, whi at¬ tended the special committee meeting of the AME church at Louisville, Ky., last week, gave echoes on the meeting at which charges against Bishop J. H. Ctaybourne were dismissed. Clark day in Louisiana in hon¬ or of the late Dr. J. S. Clark, pioneer Negro educator. Dr- Clark was the first Negro to become president of a land grant college and former head, of Southern university. A drive for $10,000 has been launched to build a permanent memorial to Dr. Clark. Plans to build the memorial were started by the Southern, University Alumni federation last year in a meeting at the home of the president of the group, J. F. White, Winsboro La.
