T\\e, Journal.
THK publishing Goinn ittee announces the
postponement of the publication of the
- Wesleyan Journal, until the first of October next.
The Committee does this reluctantly, and with
regret, but it is deemed bett< r, to delay the pub
lication of the Journal, waiting the return of the
Bev. Mr. Ouw, who is now absent for bis health,
th it to issue it under the editorship of another
person, Was Mr Olio present, the Journal
should appear fo-thwilh. The Committee tie
light to acknowledge how fully their expecta
tions have been realized by subscriptions for the
Wesleyan Journal, They regard it no longer
problematical whether a ft bgious paper, such as
is contemplated, night rece ve adequate support
in the South ; and they are anxious only to have
the paper edited by one whose ample endow
g ments should render it worthy of the extensive
patronage it is likely to obtain,

ANU S IE AM BATHS.
DB lIOUEL, a French Physician, respectfully
informs the public, that he has established
f S I EA.M aid MEDICAL BATHS in Augusta
t The very high repute these Baths have acquired
in Europe, where (although a late discovery' l
they are to be found in every hospital, and tin
great cures they have performed in Boston, Phi
ladelphia and Charleston, can leave no doubt o
their efficacy. The most gentle as well as tin
most powerful medicines are administered by that
means, without any pain, trouble or disgust to list
- patient.
They are a never fading remedy i;i all cutane j
ous a flections; from Psora, Ringworms, Ike. ti
Rcaldhead and Leprosy. They itlso have never
tailed of success in either acute or chronic rhen
matism.
In glandular obstructions, chlorosis, anasarenu
s wellings, incipient dropsy ; in all diseases of th«
joints, gouty affections, dispersion of tumors, ill
cured syphilis, spasmodic or nervous affections i i
in all bilious disorders, dyspepsia, hypocondriusis
epilepsy—these baths have been found most ser
vtceable, and have often succeeded even in here
d'lary complaints. In line, this manner of admin-j
uttering almost every remedy belonging to the I
healing art, may be rendered applicable to almost '
every case, and (it is repeated) without any pain H
trouble, or disgust to the patient. 1
As these baths are not yet generally known /
Dr. Hovel will be happy to give the most res I 1
pectable references to persons who have beer *
