i fifty-seventh year of his age, John M'Kinnnn, Kaq. a native of
the taU of Sky, Scotland, and for the last thirty-five years, a res
pectable and useful citizen of the State of Georgia. His virtues
arc embalmed in affections of his afflicted widow and faintly,
who will long continue to 'deplore his irreparable loss.
At Boston °n Friday morning 4th inst. the Hon. Writ. Gray ,
tijed 75, .i wealthy and highly respectable merchant, of unosten
tatious, uliable and plain manners. He was one f the. parents
of the India trade, which assisted in our earlier national com
merce, to enrich the country and many individuals. Mr. Gray
was always judiciously enterprising, indefatiguhly industrious, and
systematic in the arrangements of lime. He generally rose about
tne same hours (3 or 4 o’clock) in all seasons of the year—and in 1
1* the quiet of the. morning perused his letters, examined bis uc- 1
•■counts, and formed his plans and arrangements. Mis perceptions
were clear, and his explanations calm and collected. He has
left a family of which any father would be proud.
