Beware of Counterfeits.
Since the expiration of the origi-
nal sewing machine patents, imita
tions of certain machines have been
made and sold at low prices, and the
public are cautioned by the makers
of genuine machines to “beware of
counterfeits.” Now it is it noticea
ble fact that the machines which
have been imitated are such as can
he cheaply made, and which will for
a short time do passable sewing. It
may also he noticed that no bogus,
spurious counterfeit Wheeler A Wil
son ISewing Machines arc offered for
sale, and for this reason, it would
coot nearly a* ro^tclyto make thor
oughly good and serviceable machines
in a small way as the Wheeler fc Wil
son Manufacturing Company ask for
their machines at retail. No capi
talist has been tempted to invest
enough money in the precarious ven
ture, ami it is not likely that any will
attempt it. Second-hand Wheeler
& Wilson Muchinrs are sold in a
small way by unprincipled dealers as
new, but even this trade is curtailed
by the offer of such machines at low
er prices at the Company’s offices.
The Colossal Bmize Statue of Vic
