Perhaps at no period of Christian history from the days
in which Christ astonished the multitude at the pool of
Bcthesdm, has such an excitement prerailed among tho
sick as is now created by the accidental discovery of a
fountain of mineral water which beyond cavil eclipses tho
whole fraternity of the learned faculty In restoring to
original health almost every form of chronic disease. Find
ing it impassibU to accommodate the sick here, the proprie
tors propose to furnish the concentrated medicine pre
pared by simply reducing the water by evaporation into
a fine powder or Mass, which pomessee all tho woaderft&I
virtues of the water in a cheap and convenient form. The
Mam la a fine tonic, alterative and absorbent and is es
pecially useful to ladies suffering from irregularities and
affections peculiar to their sex. It has been universally
approved and endorsed by the Medical Profession wher
ever introduced, both as a dUtidcratum in their
and as the best popular remedy ever offered in tbs cars
of Asthma, bilious Affections, Bronchi LiOchllls,
", Cutaneous ”
Cancer, Asiatic Cholera, Cramp Cholic,
Erupt-
emorrtuges,
, , r , , —ngnor. Liver
diseases, Tetter, Mental Depression, Nervous Debility.
Neuralgia, Nocturnal Emissions, Night Sweats. Prolapsus
Uteri, Sexual weakness. Scrofula, Summer Complaints.
Venerial diseases, Worms, Whites, and all diseases wh.ch
derive their origin from the Blood, Liver or Kidneys.
Dissolved in water it makes an excellent wash, gargle
and injection, and incorporated with fresh lard,permoa-
enila cures the most obstinate case ot Piles. The
of this remedy cannot be over estimated in the cure of
the diseases mentioned above. The Analysis of the Maas
by Prof. Chas. F. Chandler, Ph. D. of the College of
Pharmacy, New York City, proves its perfect adaptation
to every form of disease proceeding from the Stomach, the
Liver the Kidneys, and the Blood.

Manhood; How Lost, How Re
stored !
Just published a new edition of Dr. Culver-
Tiieke is a merchant in town who rcceiv-
v>l a very large consignment of chickens
from Gainesville yesterday, which had to
come all the way around by Atlanta. Just
to think of it 1 This reminds us of a gen
tleman from Macon in our office last week,
who was surprised that he had to pay
twenty dollars a month board ior his son, in
eollege, when, as he went on to remark, eggs,
hotter and chickens could be gotten here
ahnost for nothing. See what a fond delu
sion this gentleman labored under. It was
so once upon a time, but now the Air Line
road takes all the produce to Atlanta, some
of which, were there means of transporta
tion, would come to Athens; and hence these
articles of provisions are scarce and high
here, and will necessarily continue so until
our Northeastern road is completed.
The number of partridges this season
seems, from present indications, to be con
siderably below the average. The bags
made by our sportsmen since the opening of
the season, October 1st, have been very un
satisfactory.
On the afternoon of the 1st, Messrs. W.
IV. Thomas, \V. B. Tiiomas and J. II.
Ritkkk, were ill: in the field. W. W.
Tuomas iound only- two coveys, and bagged
ten birds; W. B. Thomas found two coveys,
and bagged eleven; and J. H. Rucker
found two coveys, and bagged nine.
The next afternoon, J. II. and A. C.
Rucker, after hunting over one of the fa
vorite “ rounds,” come home without see
ing a feather.
On the afternoon of tho 4th, W. W.
Thomas and J. IL Rucker went out to
gether, finding one small covey in a pine
thicket, and killing two birds.
On the afternoon of the 5tli, W. B.
Thomas killed five out of a covey of six, and
two out of a covey in tho woods.
All the coveys, with one or two excep
tions, have been smal); indicating an unfa
vorable year for raising.
On the ground already hantod, all report
a falling off of at least seventy-live per cent,
mi last year. The ground hunted so far
has been that just around the city. It is to
he hoped that birds will be found more
plentiful farther from town.
wells Celebrated Essay on the radical cure
(without medicine) of Spermnttorhcca or
Seminal Weakness, involuntary Seminal
Losses, Impotenev, also. Consumption, Epilep
sy and Fits, induced by .self-indulgence or
sexual extravagance, Ac.
tW Price, in a sealed envelope, only six cents. The
celebrated author, in this admirable Essay, clearly demon
strates, from a thirty years successful practice, that the
alarming consequence's of self-abuse may be radically
cured without tho duugerous use of internal medicine or
the application of the knife; pointing out a mode of cure
at once simple, certain and effectual, by means of which
every sufferer, no matter what his condition may be, may
cure himself cheaply, privately and radically.
