Perhaps by reading the following ar ticles, they may threw sens !Vb f on the subject : “Know Nothing!?!?.—ln cur opinion, Ihere never was a more mischievous or wicked plot devised for breaking the com federation into inveterate, irreconcilable factions, always aftd forever arrayed against each other, than that of thus es tablishing distinctions, irritating to the feelings as well as incompatible with the icijual rights of millions of men invited hitter with the assurance that they should share equally in our inheritance. Have we not already enough of the elements of disunion among us ? If it is wished to de stroy all identity of feelings or purposes in the people of the United States; to dis tract the Union by the infusion of a far rago of discords;'and place the different races of man, of which it is composed, in a state of permanent hostility to each oth er, there never was a more effectual plan devised for such a purpose, than this dark conspiracy of Abolitionism, Know Noth ingisin and Whiggcry; which last, is, in fact, the basis and cement of the entire fabric, as well as the grand laboratory in which all these combustible materials of mobs and tumultuous assemblages of the city populace arc fabricated. Without the alliance and support of this party, which seems daily undergoing a process of degradation, these various shreds and ■mtches of faction would be comparative ly harmless. — Democratic Review. “Our opponents —we have no name for Ihoui as a party—have in this political campaign abandoned all the great issues which have heretofore separated them from the Democracy, thus tacitly admit ting that our party was right and their’s was wrong. Where now is their Nation al Bank, their Protective Tariff, their Ve to Power, and many other similar sup ports upon .which they heretofore based their claim to public confidence ? All gone—not even alluded to —swallowed up in the one idea of opposition to men born upon a soil foreign to our own 1 Oppo sition to the White Foreigner and live for the AFRICAN, now seem to be the only things worthy their attention, and upon these they hope to build up a party strong enough to control the destinies oi the Commonwealth.— Lancaster {Fa.) Holloway's Pills, a certain Cure for Asthma.—These Bills have effected sever al wonderful cures of these, complaints.— lhc following is one out of five hundred. •Tames Earnshaw, of Philadelphia-, suffered with asthma for fifteen months, the con tinual cough completely shook his system, caused him to spit, blood, and at times almost choked him.
