FOR BALING COTTON.
AN INSURANCE AHA INST
FIRE, WASTAGE AND STEALAGE
r pi) E3E B ind, and Tie? arc a complete snb.ti-
I tute for rope in bailing cotton, combining the
utmost simplicity, which the greatest poaeible ac
cceuriiy.
They arc cheaper than tone—are fastened quiek
er, and bold the bale (to* teas in size. Every
Band is long euough lor the largest bale, and can
be iostuuf*»cou.ly adapted to tint size ot any bale
while in the pretu. as quickly and with the same
ease as ropes.
They ate manufactured in Liverpool, of the heat
English Iron, cut to aniform lengths of ten feet,
and put up iu bundles ot 35 Bands and Ties each—
complete and inscperable, until opened out for use.
They are thoroughly painted and are not subject
to damage ; being equally adapted to bales mode
by plantation presses in every section of the coun
try, merchants in the interior may deal in them
with greater security than rope: aud the uniformi
ty of the bundles enable* hoth merchants and
planters to determined precisely how to order
for any given number of bales.
Since th* close of the war, they hare been intro
duced into the Mississippi Valley audTuzaa, where
they have met with great favor, and arc fast sn
percccding lire use of rope. The workiug oflhc
‘’Atrow Tic” is »o simple, that the compressors of
cotton in New Orleans have been unable to
snstain themselves hi their opposition to Iron
Bands, and they are now using these Bands and
Tics, without any objectiou, and with entire satis
faction.
Messrs. Baldwin k Cos., arc our regular author
ized agents in Dawson, from whom merchants and
planters may obtain the Band and Ti« in any de
sired quantity at the lowest terms.
The undersigned agent for this District is pre
pared to furnish them to dealers and consumers in
