Two handsome New Hampshire ...The dedication of the Pio Xnno college at Macon, took place last Sun day. The opening ceremonies con sisted of a jwayer and services in front of the building. From thence, the same ceremonies were held in the re ception hall, on the first floor, aud then the assemblage were invited to the chapel, upstairs, where the altar was brilliantly illuminated by numerous candles surrounding the statute of the Blessed Virgin, which had been pre sented to the college hy Pope Pius IX, and was to be unveiled on the occa sion. After prayers aud the burning of incense, together with music. Bishop Gross unveiled the statue and ad dressed the assembly. The staute is a bust on a |>edestal about three and a half feet high, and is of the finest mar ble aud a piece of exquisite statuary. It is probably, the finest work of art in the State, if not in the South.
