THE MEN’S CLASS.
The Men’s Class of the Methodist
church is growing in interest every
Sunday. The President, Mr. Chip
stead, with his committees on Invi
tation and Membership, are delighted
with the co-operation on the part of
the Class generally. Last Sunday
there were thirty-odd present and the
talk by Mr. Nunnally on Material
Benefits from Class Affiliation was
enjoyed especially. The lesson study
is condensed, comprehensive and full
of interest. We invite every man
who has no engagement for that hour
to meet with us. Come once, you
will want to come again. Time of
meeting, 10 o’clock. Place, small
wooden building just back from the
Methodist church. The room has
been completely renovated this week
under direction of Mr. Murdock and
made ready for forty men next Sun
day.

AT THE METHODIST
CHURCH SUNDAY NIGHT.
The service at the Methodist
church Sunday night will be in the
way of a welcome to our returning
soldier boys. All the boys who see
this notice or hear of this plan, who
have been in the service in any way
are most cordially invited to attend,
and this invitation goes also to their
home folks. All of us, with peculiar
joy, welcome the boys back home
and this service is to emphasize that
fact. The public generally is invited.

SMOKING TOBACCO
FACTS FROM THE
ENCYCLOPAEDIA
The Use of Flavorings Deter
mines Difference In Brands
The Encyclopaedia Britannica says
about the manufacture of smoking to
bacco: “...on the Continent and in
America, certain ‘sauces’ are employed
... the use of the ‘sauces’ is to improve
the flavour and burning qualities of the
leaves.” Which indicates that a smoker’s
enjoyment depends as much upon the
flavoring used as upon the tobacco.
Your nose is a sure guide in the mat
ter of flavorings. Try this simple test
with several tobacco brands: pour some
tobacco into your palm, rub briskly,
and smell. You will notice a distinct
difference in the fragrance of every
brand. The tobacco that smells best to
you will smoke best in your pipe, you
can rest assured.
Carefully aged, old Burley tobacco,
plus a dash of pure chocolate, gives
TUXEDO Tobacco a pure fragrance
your nose can quickly distinguish from
any other tobacco. Try it and see.

she will be better real soon.
The entertainment at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Gay Saturday
night was very much enjoyed by a
lot of young people. Music and
games predominated.
Mr. L. A. Whatley ate supper with
Mr. Jim Hudgins Sunday night at
the home of the latter’s mother, Mrs.
Emma Hudgins.
The turkey dinner Sunday at the
home of Mr. G. S. Waller was great
ly enjoyed by a number of relatives
and friends.
Our Sunday school continues to
grow. We have over fifty on roll and
we also had a large crowd of visitors
Sunday evening.
The farmers are plowing this
week, although the land in this vicin
ity is still very wet, but the plows
have been stopped three weeks on
account of excessive rains.
Our school has increased immense
ly since the school wagon has been
put on the road. It is loaded to ca
pacity by children who live too far
to walk.
Mr. Jim Harriss is going to give
the young people their weekly dance
Friday night. We suppose this will
be the last one of the season, as
the nights are getting short and farm
ers have to sleep if they are to feed
the world.

For years past Southern farmers have known that top
dressing pays. Truck crops and fall-sown crops, especially
demand in the spring a top dressing containing quick
acting nitrogen.
Many of the most progressive farmers apply a top
dressing to all crops, even cotton and com, and it has un
questionably been a profitable investment.
The best nitrogenous top dressing, and the only drillable one is
