the engagement of their daughter,
Debra Sue, to Andy Martin Mid
dleton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry
Middleton, all of Blakely.
The bride-elect is the grand
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Baxley,
Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Hester, and
the late Mr. R.H. Creel, all of Blakely.
Debra is a 1978 graduate of
Southwest Georgia Academy and a
1981 graduate of Troy State Universi
ty. She is presently employed by

The future bridegroom is the grand
son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Temples,
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Middleton, and the
late Mrs. Alice Middleton, all of
Blakely.
Andy is a 1979 graduate of
Southwest Georgia Academy and is
presently employed by Middleton
Electric Motor Services in Blakely.
The wedding is planned for June 11,
1983 at the Cuba Presbyterian Church.

Miss Laura Gaynor Payne and Clay
Forrester Bridges were united in
marriage during a ceremony held on
Saturday, May 29, at 2 o’clock in the
afternoon at Dahlonega Baptist
Church in Dahlonega, Georgia.
The ceremony was officiated by the
Rev. Robert D. Green of Dahlonega.
Nuptial music was provided by Mrs.
James E. Lowery of Dahlonega,
Georgia and Captain Perry L.
Bridges, Jr. of Hiedelburg, Germany,
brother of the bridegroom.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
Joseph H. Payne, Sr. of Albany,
Georgia, and Mrs. Charles R. Stanley
of Dalton, Georgia. She has one
brother Joseph H. Payne, Jr. of Ring
gold, Georgia. Parents of the
bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs. Perry
L. Bridges, Sr. of Blakely.
Mr. Payne gave his daughter in
marriage. Mrs. Wanda Carter of
Sautee, Georgia served as maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Patti
Barrett of Cleveland, Georgia, Mrs.
Jeffrey Galloway of Ringgold,
Georgia, and Mrs. Samuel E. Massey
of Athens, Georgia, sister of the
bridegroom.
Mr. Bridges performed the duties of
best man for his son. Groomsmen
were Captain Perry L. Bridges, Jr.,
brother of the bridegroom; Samuel E.
Massey, Sr. of Athens, Georgia; and
Thomas E. Thurmond of Tucker, Ga.
During the ceremony a military
sabre arch was formed. Attendants
for the arch included Randy Butler of
Dunwoody, Georgia; Steve Fogarty of
Lawrenceville, Georgia; George
Forbes of Macon, Georgia; Kevin
Griffith of Gainesville, Georgia; Reed
Horton of Warner Robins, Georgia;
Michael Kasiba of St. Petersburg,
Florida; Don McDougall of
Dahlonega, Georgia; Seth Miller of
Hagerstown, Maryland, Fortson
Rumble of Pelham, Georgia; and
Kevin Staley of Decatur, Georgia.
Kevin Griffith of Gainesville,
Georgia and Michael Kosiba of St.
Petersburg, Florida served as
candlelighters.
Following the ceremony a reception
was held in the fellowship hall of the
church. Assisting in serving were
Miss Kelly Ballew of Avondale
Estates, Georgia; Miss Carolyn
Hulsey of Murrayville, Georgia; Miss
Donna Martin of Gainesville,
Georgia; and Miss Bonnie Thomas of
Loganville, Georgia. The bride’s book
was kept by Miss Deborah A. Brannon
of Vienna, Virginia.
After a wedding trip to Panama Ci
ty, Florida the couple will reside in Ft.
Sill, Oklahoma.
Barron Reunion to
be Held July 11
The Barron Reunion will be held Ju
ly 11th at Cohelee Creek Covered
Bridge Picnic Area. All relatives and
friends are invited to attend. Lunch
will be served around 1 p.m.
