We the Grand Jurors selected, chosen RDd sworn for the second week, April Term of the Superior Court of Gordon County, make the following general presentments : We have by our committee examined the books of both Superior and Inferior Clerks offices, and find thom neatly kept.. The Jail and Court House are m bad fix and In oenbexion with committees of first week present term, ri-eotrimond speedy action by the Inferi or court, to haVe them repaired. We also call atten tion of the Ootnt having control of Executive Docket to the fact that while the book is neaily kept in style, yet we find numbers of cases standing open, which we have reason to believe, have been paid. This we be lieve is owing to a neglect of duty upon the part of of ficers having papers for collection. In re nth n to roads, we cannot too strongly urge the Inferior court, as early as practicable to have them put in g .otl repair, by having officers where they are tie ded and work done. In relation to school funds, owing to the financial condition of the country and shortness of crops, and In as much as our recent Legislature has repealed an act of a former Legislature, setting apart one hundred thousand dollars of ne earning or Western & Atlantic Hall lload, for poor School purposes, and the tax which the Inferio* court is authorized to levy, would not ben efit any one c inipartaively, we therefore recommend no tax to b • levied for •-hool purposes.
