Squirrels and their Enemies.—
Ofihis most beaatilulf active and

cast of the Rocky Mountains, the most
interesting species are the grey, the
f->x and the pine squirrel, called on the

the cat squirrel. The grey squirrel
frequently migrates in vast numbers,

corn crop. To such an extent did
epradations reach in the colony
of Pennsylvania, in the year 1740, ns
to excite the alarm of the authorities,

for squirrel scalps, and the colloidal
treasury was depleted to the extent of
