Home Enterprise.
Editor of the Herald: —Knowing the
interest you take in any enterprise calcu
lated to add to the prosperity of our peo
ple, and believing that, we are all interested
in the success, and responsible, in some
measure, for the failure of such enterprises
in our midst, I write iperely to call the at
tention of your readers to one such, which
has been in operation long enough to prove
itself worthy f success; ami 1 do this the
more boldly since 1 see that they have
been, and are, making use of your columns
to insure success. 1 allude to the
Tan Yard of Messrs. Brown & Moncricf.
I think a visit to their yard will satisfy
any one that we need. not. go out of our
counly for good leather; and a visit to
their shoe shop, presided over by Mr. It.
Ilu.-lbcrt, will equally saiisfy all, that we
need not go to Boston to get a good, ser
vic able shoe. It is these small industries,
well patronized, that make a country pros
perous. I write this without llio knowl
edge of the parties interested.
