Staim.ku is uiithori/.e i to receive subscriptions, advertising and job work for tills paper. 0* Eureka is for sale at the drug store of Dr. A. 11. Taylor, ilawkins ville, Ga. ' * i A Suuoestion. —Wo suggest to the members of the Methodist denomina tion iu llawkinsville, that tliey go to work and fix up their eliurch as their llaptist brethren have done. An Episcopalian lias ottered to give sld towards the painting of it, and a Baptist lias signified his willingness to assist in repairing it. Now, what, do the members say ? We call their , attention to a piece of poetry on the first page, which will inform them how to replenish the church treasury. Let them thus act, and a larger sum can be raised than will be necessary to pul tneir church in complete repair. j3J” Eureka cures epileptic fits. “ Refused.”—We have been send ing a copy of the Dispatch to the Lanier House, Macon, for lo! these many months. Col. Collier has lately retired front the management of the house, and last week out paper came back marked “ refused.” It is bad enough for a hotel not to take a pa per when it lias to pay for it; but when a paper is sent gratuitously — well, we hardly know what to say. It is evident the now landlord does not intend to surfeit his guests with mental food, whatever he may do as regards appeasing their hunger. JCgJ” Eureka cures hooping-cough. Cakteusvih.e Standard. —We are in receipt of anew paper, with the above title, published at Cartersville, Ga.,by Messrs. Wikle & Woods. Y\ u had looked for a neat paper, knowing the qualifications «»f these gentlemen, but find the specimen before us even better than we had anticipated. It is one of the largest and hand ;omest weeklies in the State. We wish the enterprise unqualified success. jgg?” Eureka cures asthma. 102' in the Shade. —Last Thurs day, the 21th ult., was the hottest day we have had this summer, or are likely to have. We looked at the thermometer, a few minutes before three o’clock, iu the afterpoon, and found it at 101 J . A rain cloud, whie : arose shortly afterwards, reduce 1 the temperature to 91 ■ ; but it was still hot. £7T Eureka never fails to cure. As Old Citizen Gone.— Mr. .Tas. Phillips died at his residence in this county, on the 20th ult., in his 83d year. He had been a resident of the comity for the last sixty years, was universally respected, and was the oldest inhabitant, as well as the oldest man iu the county. gggv** Try a bottle of Eureka. AnnETT's Liver Medicine. —This medicine has just been introduced here, but from the testimony to its efficacy at other places, it is doubtless valuable for diseases of the liver. It is for sale by .1. A. Thompson. See advertisement. fSTE flreka is no humbug. Death or Mu. Lane.—Mr. W. 11. Lane, a clever farmer of this county, <lie<i at Marietta ou the 31st ult. His remains readied here last Monday evening, and were consigned to the grave with MnsoAic honors on the following day. Refreshing Shower.—The intole rable heat was greatly mitigated by a refreshing shower of rain which fell . last Thursday night. It was the first rain we have had in two weeks, and was highly appreciated. > l-jtf" Eureka cures falling'fits.
