Suppose our municipal authorities
and citizens should decide to make Ma
rietta not only the prettiest but the
cleanest city in the State. Doesn’t
everybody know that it would add to
the enhancement of values of real es
tate, and make the town more desirable
in wgich to live, and induce people to
come here? Well, then, suppose our
municipal authorities get on a horse
and go out all the streets, cross streets
and back streets, and see how filthy
some of them are; how unsightly rub
bish is piled out and banked on the
streets, and you will see enough to
make you very much displeased, and
use efforts to get it removed. Give us
a thoroughly clean town, and you will
prevent sickness thig summer.
