Mr. A. M. Dobbs of this place, and
Col. Wiley Pope, Mr.and Mrs. A. A,
Smith, of Atlanta, left the first of the
week for Redding, California, to visit
the Bullychoop (Gold Mine in which a
large number of Atlanta and Marietta
people are stockholders. This mine is
already equipped with modern machin
ery, forty stamp mills, electric appli
ances and vast quantities of free mill
ing gold ore, in tine paying results.

ment,”’ was one of great power, and
made a profognd impression. How men
who seem to be prudent in business
affairs can defer the great question of

Miss Lucia Starnes and Mr. John F.
Monyoe, of the Experiment Station,
were united in marriage at the home
of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Hugh N. Starnes, at six o’clock last
evening. They will spend a month with
relatives of the groomin the Dominion
of«(Janada, after which they will make
their home at Experiment, where Mr.
Monroe is assistant - horticulturist. —

The boating and bathing season open
ed at Manget’s Lake cn June 6th by the
kind and gentle Mr. Hutchinson, chap
eroning a bevy of fair damsels and sonie
little lads to the grounds, where they
enjoyed themselves boating or bathing
and eating a nice lunch. There were
present Misses Sadie and Suzanne Hut
chinson, Emma May Rambo and Misses
Emma and Mabel Griffin, Sammie
Rambo and Lawson Hutchinson showed
up well at the lunch and protecting the
fair ones from the butterflies and hum
ming birds. On Sunday there were 61
boys and men, bathers, besides those
using the boat.
Rev. C. E. W. Dobbs, pastor of thel
Baptist Church, began a series of spe
cial sermons on June 2d. At 1l §m.,

out by the Commissioners, and a report
thereof made on oath by them.
