MISS AAMBO'S RECITAL
A GRAND SUCCESS,
Will Cive Her Masterpiece
Herod, Next Tuesday
Night, 25th. |
To say that Miss Regina Rambo’s re
cital at the Opera House last Thursday
night was a brilliant saccess is to tell
the plein unvarnished truth.
The recital was given by request for
the benefit of the Children of the Con
federacy, the monument fund.
Miss Rambo was assisted by Misses 1
Maud Foster and Irma Neal, piano, and |
Miss Candler, of Decatur, song Mrs.
Settle was called unexpectedly to
Nashville.
The audience was large, cultured
and appreciative.
Mies Rambo is the gifted and talent
ed daughter of Dr. and Mrs. 8. D. Ram
bo, of this place. She is a student of
Wesleyan College, and at the close ‘of
the last term won the gold medal for
elocution in a large class. :
Her ability is quickly recognized, ba
sides her personality is sttractive, her
poses graceful, and her conceptions in
telligent. Her rendityns were scenes
from Macbeth and Ben Hur. In her
several humorous pieces she kept the
audience in laughter throughout, af
fording an evening of rare and pleasing
entertainment.
We are glad to state that Miss Ram
bo has consented to render her master
piece, Herod, on next Tuesday evening,
June 25th, 8:30, at the Opera House
for the benefit of the Methodist church
organ fund. She rendered this piece to
1500 people in the Wesleyan College
suditorium, and won unstinted encom
ium from the Macon press and people.
Marietta, her home place, should be
as generous in apprieciation of her gen
ius and fill every seat in the Opera
House next Tuesday night.
The proceeds go to a laudable pur-
pose and all will enjoy this magnificent |
production of Stephen Phillips’ Herod.

should be cooked. Many eat our ices and
ice creams, but few know of the care and
attention we give this branch of our busi
ngss. We make our ice cream from pure,
rich cream and milk, fresh country eggs,
granulated sugar and freshly-picked, ripe
fruit. We believe that ice cream made by
cooking is more wholesome and better than
that made from raw cream, milk and eggs.
The milk, by heating, is thoroughly steril
ized, which, from a health standpoint, is
important this hot weather. \K’e cook
ours, and, above all things. we are very
particular about cleanliness in manufac
ture. When you eat OUR ice cream, you
can depend on its being clean, wholesome
and good. We are serving Peacho Straw
berry, made from the ripe fruit, and the
other popular flavors. Phone us your or- =~
der for pint, quart or gallon, and we will
have it there by meal time, nicely packed.
