They put up 12,500 cans of peaches in
one day. Col. Pat Green and Mr. Mur

Eleven thousand crates of peaches,
twenty car loads, are packed at Adairs-!
ville, Ga, the owners unable to get
refrigerator cars in which to ship them
to market. This virtually Kkills the
peach industry in that section.
Mr. George Hammett is putting in
the front to the double store of Mr. H.
C. Dobbs on north side of square and
remodeling up-stairs, msaking four
rooms and a hall.
Mrs. Margarette C. Bedford, aged 74
years, died at the residence of her son,
J. L. Bedford, on Wednesday night of
last week in Atlanta. Her remains
were brought to Marietta for inter
ment.

charge of the meeting, and has succeed
ed in getting many of the workers from
Dr. Broughton’s.church in Atlanta to
assist him in tue services. Mr E. H.
‘Peacock, pastor’s assistant of the Bap
tist Tabernacle, will speak each night.
Mr. R. O, Bell, the singer evangelist,
will have charge of the music, assisted

| KILLED BY TRAIN.
Mr. James Kemp, aged 72 years,
driving a mule hitched to a vehiele, in
attempting to cross W. & A. R. R
track at Aeworth on Wednesday morn
ing of last week, was struck by a south
bound passenger train engine, and Mr.
‘Kemp and the mule were knocked some
sixty feet and instantly killed. The
deceased is survived by a wife and one
son, Mr. Starling Kemp, near Red Roek.
