GOSSETT—MeHAN,
The happiest couple in town is Mr.
and Mrs, J. W. Gossett. They were
united in marriage Wednesday night at
the Baptist parsonage. Rev J.L Ma
han officiating.
Mr. Gossett, whose parents live in
Georgia, has been employed in Long’s
barber shop. A few weeks ago he left
for Georgia to visit his parents. While
on this visit he and his sweetheart,
Miss Mattie McHan, decided to join
fortunes in marriage. There was some
objections on the part of the young
lady’s parents. But as usual, love
laughs at locksmiths and doting pa
rents. By certain tricks, wlles and de
ceptions, which are always fair in love
and war, Miss McHan managed to evade
the parental vigilance, made her way
from town to town until she and her
lover arrived in Atlanta, Ga. Here
Mr. Gossett procured a ticket for his
affinnced to this place. At this juncture
he discovered that his ticket, which
was a return ticket, must be signed up
at Marietta. So a trip to Marietta re
sulted. Being afraid of interference on
the part of the bride’s parents, they
hurried to Atlanta, Texas, arriving here
Wednesday morning. A license was
procured and the couple were married
as above stated.
They are here, and the people of At
lanta, Texas, give them hearty con
gratulations.
WHY COLDS ARE DANGEROUS.
Because you have contracted ordi
nary colds and recovered from them
without treatment of any kind, do not
for & moment imagine that colds are
not dangerous. Everyone knows that
pneamonia and chronic catarrh have
their origin in a common cold. Con
sumption is not caused by a cold, but
the cold prepares the system tor the
reception and development of the germs
that would not otherwise have found
lodgment. Tt is the same with all in
fectious diseases. Diphtheria, scarlet
fever, measles and whooping cough are
much more likely to be contracted
when the child has acold. You will
see from this that more real danger
lurks in a cold than in any other of the
common ailments, The easiest and
quickest way to cure a cold is to take
Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy. The
many remarkable cures effected by this
preparation have made it a staple arti
cle of trade over a large part of the
world. For sale by C. M. Crosby & Co.,

Fluid Extract Dandelion, one-half
ounce ; Compound Kargon, one ounce;
Compound Syrup Sarsaparilla, three
