Mr. Leonard Dobts, a flagman on the
L. & N. Railroad, on making a soupling
at Elizabeth on last Friday afternoon,
kicked at the coupling pin to make it
go down into the socket, when his foot
got caught between the bumpers, and
the train, backing at the time, mashed
his foot badly, breaking a bone, and
placing him in a disabled condition.
That he escaped death under such a
perilous position is miraculous. He is
a young man and well thought of, and
his misfortune is to be regretted.

George Mitehell, son of Hon. and Mrs.
N. A. Morris, was sent to Roswell to
keep from contracting the scarlet fever
from his sister, but he has developed a
case. He hag been brought home, We
are sorry to hear of his sickness.
