FOUR OUNCES LESS BRAIN.
New York, May 15.—With four
ounces of his brain removed, Ja
cob Ritz, twenty-two years old, of
Brooklyn, is preparing to leave St.
Mary’s Hospital. apparently in
good health and in possession of
all his faculties. The operation
was performed by the surgeons of
the hospital and 1s regarded as suc
cessful .
Ritz skhot himself in the head
with a revolver on April Bd, the
bullet entering the side of his head.
A tumor formed between the brain
and the wall of the skull and press
ed upon the frontal lobes.
In removing this it was found
necessary to take out about four
ounces of brain matter. Because
of the course the bullet had taken
it wae thought that Ritz’s senses of
sight and taste had been impaired.
Tests, however, showed that these
had not heen affected.
In the Pittsburg, Pa., jail there
is confined a suave young man who
says he is ‘“‘Count St. Germain,’’
of Germany. He is locked up on
a felony charge. But the fact that
he is in jail as 8 suspected felon
does not, it seems, diminish the
admiration of the women for him.
He is said to be in receipt of a
hundred letters daily from women,
nearly all expressing the tenderest
sympathy and even affection.

Cure the Cause.
How to Remedy Much of the Suffering
in Marietta.
Half of the sickness and suffering in
Marietta comes from a weak stomach.
Cure the cause by using Mi-o-na
Stomach Tablets and be well and happy.
Even the most chronic cases yield to
Mi-o-na. W. C. Worrell, connected
with the Lake Shore Railroad for years,
says: ‘‘For fifteen years I had acute
stomach trouble and nothing helped
me. A friend recommended Mi-o-na,
and two boxes entirely cured me ”’
Cure the cause of your suffering, and
be well and happy.
If the stomach is weak and you have
‘indigestion, flatulence, dizziness, head
‘ache, ete., get a 50-cent box of Mi-0-na
from C. M. Crosby & Co.. aruggists,
Marietta. They give an absolute guar-
Lantee to refund the money unless Mi-o
n® cures.

loves himself.

THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF I
SUFFERING.
Rheumatism causes more paiu and
suffering than any other disease, for the
reagon that it is the most common of
all ills, and it is certainly gratifying to
sufferers to know that Chamberlain’s
Pain Balm will afford relief, and make
rest and sleep possible In many cases
the relief from pain, which is at first
temporary, has become permanent,
while in old people subject to chronic
rheumatism, often brought on by damp
ness or changes in the weather, a per
manent care eannot be expected; the
relief from pain which this liniment af
fords is alone worth many times its
cost. 25 and 50 aent gizes for sale by C
