Mr Walter Echols, who died

was hrought home Wednasday, was
Yorn and reared in this communi
ty. He was the second son of Mr
and Mrs James T Echols or this
place, and was twenty-eight years
of age on the day his corpse was
brought home. Walter was al
ways a clever, good boy, aud every
body was his friend. He always
had a kind word and a pleasant
smile for all with whom he came
in contact. He was a fine busi
ness young man, and had been in
business 1n Augusta for the past
five years, and by his energy and
catefulness had accumulated a
good deal of property. He was a
member of the church at Midway.
And we learn that he told those
around his death-bed that he was
not afraid to die. We can’t un.
derstand that oue so young and
useful should be taken, but Ged
knows best, and though we miss
Walter greatly, we have hopes that
we will meet him where partings
are no more, His beautiful casket
was literally covered with lovely
flowers, tokens of love from friends
in Augusta and elsewhere. He
leaves father, mother, six brothers
and six sisters to mourn the loss
of an obedient son and loving
brother. Interment at Midway

We learn that a poultry farm is
socn to be started at Lost Moun
tain. Well, we are just a little
ahead of Lost Mountain in that
enterprise. One of our most
worthy ladies aiready has a pcul
try farm here. She has four or
five acres beautifully wired in,
chicken houses, etc, and every
thing needed in a poultry yard.
Of course, she is just trying this
on a small scale this year, but af
ter this year she will go into the
business more extensively, and we
feel sure will meet with success.
And when we get that car line
we're looking for, there will be
many more enterprises started up—
such as dairying, truck farming,
etc. Just let the car line come,
and we’ll show yon what we’ll do.
