Gold.
During the week gold lias hern cutting
all sorts of figures. At one time it reach

same day to 158. The cause of these
fluctuations is partly speculative, but
mainly attributable to the large shipment
of it to Europe. There is imminent

those who can control any money wish
that money tu be gold, fur they have long

inclined to the hope, however, that gold
will steadily decline for the future, until
it reaches the point it was at previous to
its recent rise.
