The carelessness of a sorvnnt in leaving his
team standing in the yard, caused Mrs. Pu-
tionee Saffold, widow of the late I. II. Suf
folk, Esq., of this minty, to be seriously hurt
on Monday hist.’ Seeing the team moving oft’
khe caught up thu linos and attempted to
•stop them. Aged and foeblc, she was unable
to even detain them or extricate horsnlf from
the lines; her fe.*t becoming entangled in the
latter, she was dragged to the earth on 1 se
verely bruised. Mrs. S. lias been on invalid
for many months past, scarcely able to leave,
the house. And this now affliction, it is fear

t J’hk Concert To-night. —Those who fail to I
attend tho Concert at the Court-house to-night
will doubtless miss the richest trout of the
season, in this community at least, In ad
dition to his present class, Prof. Guttonbor-
ger will be assisted by a number of liis form
er pupils—young ladies of line musical talcut
—from other counties. Tho Concert will
embrace some of tho finest Overtures, Quar
tettes, Duettes,Songs and Choruses, known to
the musical wbrld. Quite a number of in
strument* will be used. Those who love
good music, vocal or instrumental, should
not fail to attend. No charge for admission.
The entortninmont will be varied by com
positions and declamations by the pupils * of
the Ssndorsville High School.
-O-
Rusinkss in Sandkrhvjlle, aooording to our
obsorvaation, has boon batter the present
season than at any time since the war. Par
ties who were §o unfortunate ns to be com
pelled to give liens, have genoraUy r espond-
ed promptly, and the most of them have
something over from the rooeipts of their
cotton crop. Merchants tell us that there
lias been lets poor cotton in market than they
have ever known before. The season was
unusually fine for picking, the cotton open
ing very early and fast. . The ruins, too, have
been much lighter than usual. It is a pleas
ing thought that our people are once more
on the higway of prosperity. One more year
of like economy an l successful planting and
our people will be lice from debt and all its
attending evils.
