The recent session of the Aasociatiou held with Mt. Stephen's churob, Hancock oounty, was more largely attended than usual, und an occasion of great interest and profit to the church generally. Among the visiting brethren present were Dr. J. B. Hawthorn Dr. J. G. Gibson, Dr. J. H. Kilpatrick. Rev' Wm.M. Gamer, nud Dr. Harvoy Hatcher. Tho Introductory Bcrmon, in the absence ot Rev. C. W, Minor, was preached by Rov. J. B. Hawthorn of Atlunta. 0on. W. J. Northern who tins for muny years served so acceptably as moderator, was ununimoualy ro electod to preside over the body, and //on. Ivy W. Duggan, the faith ful und time houored clerk was also unani mously're-elooteu. Rov. B. H. Ivey was elected to take charge of Washington Institute by the Board ol Trustees, Ibis action, oi the Board meets with general lavor, und promises a new ora of succokb to this oherished institution. The sum of $500 was raised by tbo Asaocia- to dolray the expenses of young men pre- paring for the ministry. Thoro are three young men in tho bounds of the Association that will be beneficiaries of this fund, two oi whom are from Darien church, and the ohurob at Darien, raised $1G0, of tho total sum collided. Kervioes were held during tho session both at Mt. Stephen’s and at tFhit# Plains church near by, which church also geuerously;and hospitably aided in the pleasunt dujy ol en tertaining tho Association. The pulpit ministrations of the able divines in attend ance were largely attended by night as well as by day, and were greatly enjoyed by all, The next Association will be held with Bluok Spring ohurch.Baldwiu county, Rev.
