The reports of large deposits of guano on the
coast of Peru are said to have been exaggerated.
The stock in the Chincha Islands is almost ex
hausted. The stock of guano of good quality
on the Guanape, Macabi and Lobos Islands does
not exceed one million tons, and is of very infe
rior quality in the Lobos Islands. Another mil
lion tons is the outside quantity. In the South
the only deposit of any consideration is on Pa
bellon de Pica, and this does not amount to a half
a million tons. The small quantity of guano
which remains on the Ballestas Islands is of an
inferior quality. Should no new' deposits be
discovered the present stocks will not last more
than four years.

The Danbury (Conn.) News has an item that
very mournfully illustrates the decline of moral
ity iu the land of stead}' habits. It says:
Sunday is begining to be utilized in Danbury.
We saw a man on White street Sunday afternoon
with a healthy string of fish in his hand which
he had just taken from a neighboring stream,
We followed him some distance in hopes to see
him fall dead, but he didn’t do it.

Nearly all diseases originate from Indigestion
and Torpidity of the Liver, and relief is always
anxiously sought after. If the Liver is Regulat
ed in its action, health is almost invariably se
cured. Want of action in the Liver causes
Headache, Constipation, Jaundice, Pain in the
Shoulders, Cough, Chills, Dizziness, Sour Stom
ach, Bad Taste in the Mouth, Bilious attacks,
Palpitation of the Heart, Depression of Spirits,
or the Blues, and a hundred other symptoms,
for which Simmons’ Liver Regulator is the best
remedy that has ever been discovered. It acts
mildly, effectually, and being a simple vegetable
compound, can do no injury in any quantities
that it may be taken. It is harmless in ever}'
way; it has been used for 40 years, and hun
dreds of the good and great from all parts of the
country will vouch tor its being ths pure and
best.
The symptoms of liver complaint are uneasi
ness and pain in the side. Sometimes the pain
is in the shoulder, and is mistaken for the Rheu
matism. The stomach is affected with the loss
of appetite and sickness, bowels in general cos
tive, sometimes alternating with lax. The head
is troubled with pain, and dull, heavy sensation,
considerable loss of memory, accompanied with
painful sensation of have left undone something
which ought to have been done. Often com
plaining ot weakness debility, and low spirits.
Sometimes mary of the above symptoms attend
the disease, and at other times very few of them;
but the Liver is generally the organ most in
volved.
