CONCENTRATED fluid extract BUCHU! The Great Diuretic. Th# Proprietor trusts that his Remedies, from the hetofbeioc advertised, mar not be classed as Patent Medicines: BUCIIU, in one form or other, has been present* ai by every educated Physician for more than TWO HUNDRED YEARS. Q. T. HELM BOLD claims a superior mode of ex tracting its virtues. The experiments were made rtiie encased in the DRUG business in the city of Philadelphia, nineteen years ago, promptod by the alarminc inrreate of diseases of the Bladder, Kid neys, (travel and Urinary Organs, existing in both leges. These diseases were justly attracting as much attention rs diseases of the Liver, or any other vital organs of the body. Upon the sound and healthy condition of these important organs, the healthy and harmonions action of the nervous system and Liver, and canitquently the happiness of the entire human family, depends. That Buchu should act upon both Liver and Kidneys, to prepare it so that it would re tain its strength and activo principle, was his turn. It nut not be made.'os housekeepers make tea, by boil ing. It is a delicate leaf, and its active principle would be destroyed by such a process. It mnst be prepared in VACUO, and from the long-1 far, fre.h and carefully celeotod. THE SUPERIORITY OP MY MODE OF PRE PARATION BEING ACKNOWLEDGED, I now ship even to the point (CAPE OF GOOD HOPE.) where the leaves are gathered, largo quantities of MY FLUID IXTRACT. IN FACT. THE ARTICLE STANDS PRE-EMI NENT, AND IS KNOWN IN ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD. The first and most important object was to offer to the afflicted a remedy that was perfectly safe, and coaid be taken by adults and children. Ignorant per sons. who pay no attention to dose, direction, or ad vice, might reason. "That if a teaspoonfcl, taken oc casionally, did good, two would do better, and per haps a bottle would care in a day.” Many have broken down their health by diss’pa- tion. and on this principle; bnt they had been years in doing so. What I would hara understood is, that no injury can arias from its use. It is as safo as any artielo of food; bnt patients must not expect any medicine to rebuild a wrecked or shattered constitution in a fow days. This truth is so rsif-evident that it would seem un- neeoisary to repeat it, were it not for the fact that thousands cf persons who are intelligent in all other matters, seem to think unreasonably, that a curative agent must exhibit its specific effects immediately, when the fact is, that timo is often an important ele ment in the progress ot a safe and thorough care, even when the medicine is working the best results. These same persons would expend HUXDRKDS.ycs, THOUSANDS of DOLLARS, in articles of LUX URY and DISSIPATION, and think less of It than they would of FIFTY DOLLARS la medicine to re build a BROKEN DOWN and WORN OUT CON STITUTION. Notwithstanding the number of years that 1 have been engaged in business, there may be those located at a distance that may not be aware of all the facts, and wonld like to be satisfied on all the points. Tho objection which generally lies against all discoveries and inventions in medicine is "publicity.” If somebody should discover a reme dy to prolong life, or an infallible cure for cholera or consumption, what a monster wonld he be to withhold his knowledge! We have yet to learn from what chapter or verse in Scripture to qnote, “that may not heal others of their fellow men of any disease.” Nor have we asked Pickwicks, affected prudes, or in short, men who are possessed of every kind of ense bnt common sense, and all kinds of opinions bnt their own. The Buchu is a good thing. It has hundreds of thousands of Hvirg witnesses ta attest its virtues nnd commend it. Ttls the prejudiced bigots and the envy of "Quacks.” EDWARD L. Dr. Helmbold: Dear Sir—It is with much pleasure that I writ you upon facts respecting myself. I do not know hardly how to express myself. I have toon, for the last ten or twelve years, the groatest sufferer man could bo and live; hnt more sometimes than others. The complaint was tho“KIdneys”and “Blad der.” I have been sometimes from twelve t» fourteen hours, and wanted to make water evey minute, bnt conld not. Hare eansnltcd doctors, both in Massa chusetts and this State, and taken pills, I may saj by the quart, also liquored medicines, bnt found no re lief from any, and got worse tbelsst six months. I was so that I conld scarcely get about. I conld not rest night or day. It would soon have been "all up” with me if I had not seen yonr advertisement in the Berkshire Courier, beaded "Kidneys." I read it throngb, and thought I wonld try it. I purchased a bottle, bnt, mind yon, I bad not much faith in It. Why should I, when I had been trying so many things, and costme so much? Well, 1 began taking it, and before I had takon the first bottle I felt bad; but I finished it and got another. By the time I took half of the sceond I still got worse (apparently). When I walked it seemed as if my right kidney was falling from its place, and I felt really bad. I felt so, before I had finished the second, that I made up my mind it was of no use trying any more,—and all this timo tho "Buchu" was doing its work, but I did not know it, so I gave it up. and went to Hartf.rt on Sat urday to one of the bestdoetors in the city. He said it was the neek of the bladder, and I should bavo to undergo an operation. He gave mo medicine, and I went home quite' down-hearted. On Sunday I was unable to go to Church. I had not taken aay of if medicine, but, on my return, continued using the “Bucho,”andin the afternoon I had a desire to make water, but could not. Aboutone hour aft-r !hi I tried again, with the same result; bnt tho next time I took the vessel, it was the same as turning a faucet and Stopping it off again. It was so for three times, and the third time there was somethin* came through the passage and struck against the side of tho vessel. I examined it, and it ia the ngiiest stone or gravel you oversaw, covered over with little pieces which col lected together. It looks the color of a mud turtle, and If as hard as a flint. 8o yon aee tho Buchu was doing its work, although I was feeling so badly. I procured another bottle, thinking there might be some more behind j but since that passed, which is eight weeks ago last Sunday. I have been as we'l as ever I was in my life. I hava the stone securely wrap ped, and those who have seen it in this place aro sur prised. I cannot tell yoa all. bnt thh is a true story of my ease, and yon are welcome to make such use of my name as yon think propror. I am pretty well known in Berkshire, also in Connecticut. Yon are aware, as well as myself, that it has been extensively employed in the various diseases ef the bladder and kidneys, and the reputation it has acquired, in my judgment, b war ranted by the facts. I have seen and used, as before stated, eTery form of Buehu— the powdered leaves, tlnoture fluid ex tracts—and I am not cognisant of any preparation of that plant at all equal to yours.
