A Wonderful Dog.—The Marshfield (Mo.) Citizen gives an instance of a remarkable exhi bition of intelligence by a member of tbo canine population of that town. Tho dog had been decoyed to Springfield by some teamsters, and was then taken to Mrs. Walton’s boardtog-honse and chained. We will let the Citizen tell the rest: “Mr. Abbott, hearing of the whereabonts of hia missing dog, sent word immediately to Springfield to release him, which was accord ingly done. Frank at once made straight for tho depot, and patiently remained there untfi train time. This faot was particularly noticed by the railroad employees of that place. “After waiting there for several hours, two trains came thundering along, one bound East, tbe other West. Franks tail now gave evidence of unbounded joy, and without going through with tho usual ceremony at the tioket office jumped aboard of the Eastem-bonna train, de termined to “dead head” it possible. Upon ar rival at Marshfield, without making any inqui ries as to what place it was, he bounded off the train, and made his way home, seemingly the happiest dog alive.” What makes it remarka ble is tho faot that he came alone, and was the only passenger that got off the train at this point, and that ho should got on tho right train at Springfield, even when the Western-bound train started a few minutes before the Eastern. We hear his master intends to appoint him as traveling agent. He is now being trained for that purpose.” ‘ Wholesale Grocers, Cotton Factors, General Commission Merchants SAYANNAH, GA.
