To Spring.
0 thou delicious Spring '
Nursed in the lap of thin and subtle showers.
Which fall from clouds that htt their snowy wing
From odorous beds of light enfolded flowers,
And from enmassed bowers.
That over grassy walks their greenness fling ;
Come gentle Spring 1
Thou lover of young wind,
1 bat cometh from the invisible upper sea.
Beneath the sky, which clouds its white foam,
bind,
And setting in the trees deliciously.
Makes young leaves dance with glee,
Even in the tenth of that old sober hind,
Winter unkind,
Como to us ; for thon art
Like the fine love of children, gentle Spring
Touching the sacred feeling ot tho heart
Or like a virgin’s pleasant welcoming ;
And thou dost over bring
A tide of gentle but resistless art
b pon the heart.
Alas * bright Spring, not long
Shall I enjoy thy pleasant influence :
For thou shall die the summer heat among
Sublimed to vapor in his Are intense,
And gone tore ver henco.
Exist, no more ; no more to earth belong,
Except in song.

The Dream.
BY A GIRL OF KLKVKN YEARS
I thought I stood by a lovely lake,
And flowers around it grew,
And the tiny fish beneath the wave
Were sporting in tho waters blue.
The birds sang sweetly from many a bow,
And the breezes gently blew.
And every thing was beautiiul.
And bright, and fresh and new.
And I thought 1 saw a gentle child
Among the Howers at play—
She cast the flowers upon the lake.
And watched them float away.
Her sunny tresses rested sweet
Upon her pure white brow,
And soft blue eyes so loving were.
Oh ‘ methinks I see them now.
Her ruby lips and tinted cheeks
So beautiful appeared.
She seemed as if not made for earth.
But for a better land.
Oh ’ who art thou so beautiful *
I in a rapture cried ;
She smiled on me. and who e’er saw
Ob' half so sweet a smile ’
I stood by and gated at her, for she
So beautiful did seem,
I sprang to embrace her, when I woke.
And to! it was a dream.

AVERY’S' SEWING MACHINES.
PRICE ONLY Sd.’il!
Patented October 19, 1852.
THIS Machine is acknowledged by all who
have used it to be superior to that of any oth
er Sewing Machine ever invented, for its simpli
city. compactness, the beauty and strength of its
stitch and its cheapness. It weighs about 25 lbs.,
and costs only from $25 to S3O. It will wprk,
neatly with the smallest thread, the finest muslin,
cambric or silk, as well as linen, woollen and cotton
goods, and all kinds of leather. It is so simple,
that a child of 10 years of ageean understand and
work it rapidly, without any danger of its getting
out of order, and can do the work of more than
20 seamstresses much better in every respect than
it can be done by hand. The stitches are inde
pendent of each other, so much so, that if every
other stitch is cut. the seam still holds good and
strong. It is unlike and much better than any
other sewing machine ever invented. This ma
chine is peculiarly adapted to family and planta
tion use as it will do ali kinds of sewing, and when
known will be generally introduced into families
and plantations.
The Avery Sewing Machine Company have per
fected their arrangements for manufacturing on the
largest scale, and will supply any number of ma
chines at the shortest notice.
Orders addressed to Avery Sewing Machine Com

(Signed) HKNRY WISEMAN.
Mr. 11. E. Drake, Druggist of Xenia, Ohio, states :
A gentleman of my acquaintance, who was apparently
in the last stage of Consumption, was restored to per
fect health by the use of Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and
Tar. The cure was a most extraordinary one.
Dr. Wilson, ’(an old school physician of high stand
ing.) of Patriot. Ohio, writes: —I have been the family
physician of Mrs. Wiseman for twelve years, and du
ring that time she han suffered with diseased lungs,
which finally settled into pulmonary Consumption.—
She wasentirely cured by the use of Dr. Rogers' Liver
wort and Tar. H. K. WILSON, M. D.
It is a positive fact, that wherever Dr. Rogers Syrup
of Liverwort and Tar has been introduced, it is super
ceding every other Cough Medicine before the public.
This is wholly owing to its truly wonderful medicinal
virtues.
BE WARNED IN SEASON.
And neglect not that Cough which is daily weakening
your constitution, irritating your throat and lungs, and
nviting on that dread disease. Consumption, when so
soothing and healing a remedy can be obtained as Dr.
Rogers'Syrup of Liverwort and Tar.
Beware of Counterfeits and base Imitations!

SHERWOOD’S ELECTRO-SIAGNETIC MA-
CHINES.—These machines have been used,
in treating diseases, in various parts of the coun
try, for several years. Yet they are not so gener
ally known, or at least appreciated, as they should
be. In a variety of diseases we believe their ap
plication to bo far preferable to any other mode
of treatment. We have known rheumatisms, neu
ralgic?, fevers, headaches and other ailments to be
cured by these machines, in a very brief time.
Every physician should avail himself of one of
them : and in tho bands of other judicious and
i careful persons they will bo safe and productive of
much good.
The superiority of these machines consists in
the uniformity and smoothness of the electrical

MEXICAN MUSTANG LINIMENT.
THIS invaluable preparation has been but a few
months before the people of the South, yet many
thousands of bottles have been sold and used in a
GREAT VARIETY OF DISEASES.
And it has given universal satisfaction. Wo have
heard of none that were dissatisfied with it. Wo offer
it as a remedy in the various diseases and complaints
for which it is recommended, with full confidence in
curing them, as over four millions of Bottles have
been sold and used for a. great variety of complaints,
both of men and animals, and it has always given sat
isfaction. because it’has performed just what we said it
would. It has healed Cancers and scrofulous sores ,
and ulcers that had resisted the treatment of the Medi
cal Faculty.
A child in Frederickton, N. 8., a few days ago,
burned its legs severely against a stove. The mother
immediately applied Linseed Oil and Cotton Wool, with
u tight bandage over all, in a short time the screams
of the child induced the mother to remove the bandage,
when it was discovered that the cotton wool had taken
fire by spontaneous combustion and had considerably
increased tho size of the burn. The mother happened
to think that she had part of a bottle of Mustang
Liniment in lierhou.se, which she got immediately and
applied to the burned limbs of the little sufferer, and as
soon as it was applied the child ceased its cries and
soon after fellastoep in itamother's aims, by the sooth
ing influence of this valuable preparation.
Every family should e supplied with this Liniment
i» <•<»■:. f cidont an we .now it io oe a valuable ar

trz- THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT THE MEXICAN
MUSTANG LINIMENT has been used quite extensive
ly in the stables of ADAMS A CO.’S GREAT SOUTH
ERN. EASTERN and WESTERN EXPRESS, for CUR
ING Gabis. Chafes,Scratches, Sprains and Bruises, and
it has proved very effectual. Many of their men have
also used it on themselves and their families, and they
»n speak of iIH healing awl remedial qualities in tlie
highest terms. One of our ostlers got kicked, and
badly cut and bruised on his knee —-asusual. tho MUS
TANG MNIMKNT was resorted to. and tho soreness
and lameness was soon removed, and it was, perfectly
well in throe or four dais. We have no hesitation in
recomending it as a valuable preparation, to bo used
externally on man or boast. DUNNING
Foreman of Adams & Co.’s Express Stable. N. Y.
<■ Wo take pleasure in recommending the MEXICAN
MUSTANG LINIMENT to all our friends and custo
mers as tho best article we have over used for Sores.
Bruises Sprains, or Galds in Horses. Wo have used it
extensively and always effectually. Some of our men
have also used it for severe Bruisesand Sores as well
as Rheumatic Pains, and they all say itactslike magic.
w« cn.n onlv say we have entirely abandoned the use of
any other Liniment. “J. M. HEWITT,

RHEUMATISM.
Tliis is to certify that my wife was afflicted with
severe chronic Rheumatism; she had suffered for
months the most excruciating pains; she had tried
Rheumatic Compounds, Reliefs and almost every thing
recommended for this dreadful disease. None of them
r.lieved her pains in tho least. She used eno fifty cent
bottlo of MUSTANG LINIMENT, and it cured her en
tirely she is now perfectly well, and recommends all
of her friends to use the Mustang Liniment.
