from Florida and were delighted
with the condition of the roads in
Georgia.

Rev. G. W. Mathews made a hur
ried trip to the city from the camp
grounds at Indian Springs to cast
his vote for his choice for city offi
cers. Mr. Mathews returned to In
dian Springs on the noon train Tues
day.
Mr. and Mrs. E. K. Farmer re
turned from a visit to New York
and other eastern cities Tuesday
morning.
We owe Bro. Prentiss an apology
and are ready to make it. Qur Mon
day’s issue stated that the Professor
returned from a trip to Jacksonville
Sunday, when it should have read
Saturday night. We make this ex
planation for the reason that Mr.
Prentiss does not travel on Sunday,
and makes it a point to avoid the
‘necessity of doing so at all times.
J. Dana Jones, editor of the Cof
fee County Progress, spent Tuesday
in the city on business for his paper.

Locusts Make \

Their Appearance
Atlanta. August 6.—This is the
year for the appearence of the
17-vear locusts in Georgia , and
already two or three of the
creatures have been seen in this
neighborhood. Their last visit to
Georgia was in 1868 and haven’t
been seen since. These locusts are
said to be harmless in as much
as they have no bite or sting and
feed on the bark of trees,so that
they do no damage to crops or to
people or animals,
