New Steamer to Bui) Between Augus ta anil Savannah A new steamer was launched some days ago in Augusta which is designed, we understand, to 1 v between that city and Savannah. Her trial try was made below Sand Bar Ferry, over which •be passed, heavily laden with three hundred lo fi of cotton and a large party who had been ■rfited to witness the experiment and enjoy an excursion down the river. The steamer is pro- r. tinoed a decided success, being well adapted l ithe navigation of our river at low water, and ve expect she will make her appearance at our wharves in a few days. We rejoice in this re. used evidence of commercial prosperity. The w -M work cf the steamer was executed by Mr. d tsett, and the machinery by Messrs. Day & li!
