A FTER the first day of October next, it shall be the duty of the city Marshal or any oth er offieerofthe city to confine in some proper f ilaco, all hogs or goats found running at largo o any part of broad street, and immediately advertise the same with a description of their marks (if any) and notice that tbo same will bo sold at some specified time after the expiration of two days. If within that time said hogs or goats are applied for by their owner, said hogs or goats shall be delivered to them by the offi cer on receiving the sum of one dollar for every hog or goat belonging to the city, and fifty cents for every one belonging to the eountry, and if not then delivered, they shall be publicly sold to the highest bidder and the nett proceeds paid to the city Treasurer. It shall be the duty of theeity Marshal or any other offioer of conueil, to take into his posses sion any horses, mules or horned cattle found running at largo in Broad street, between the first days of October and April in each year, and confine such animal so taken up in some secure plaee, and it shall be the duly of the city Mar shal to advertise the same at some public plaee and in one of the publio gazettes of the city fif teen days, taking care to give a particular de scription of the same in said advertisement; if sueh cattle shall be claimed by any person, he, she or they shall be entitled to the same on doe proof of property and paying all expenses of taking up, keeping and advertising the same. If said cattle are not claimed at the expiration of fifteen days, it shall be the duty of the marshal to sell the same aad pay toe nett proceeds to the city Treasurer. The Marshal or any other officer shall be en titled to the sum of fifty cents for each head of cattle taken up, to be paid by the owner if claimed, and out of the fund, if sold.
