A FTER the first day of October next, it shall be tho duty of the city Marshal or any oth or offloer of tho city to confine in some proper plaoe, all hogs or goats found running at large in any part of broad street, and immediately advertise the same with a description of their marks (if any) and notice that the same will be sold at some specified time after the expiration of two days. If srithin that time said hogs or goats are applied for by their owner, said hogs or goats shall be delivered to them by the offi cer on receiving the sum of one dollar for every hog or goat belonging to the eity, and fifty cents for every one belonging to the country, and if not then delivered, they shall be publicly sold to the highest bidder and the nett proceeds paid to the city Treasurer. It shall bo the duty of the eity Marshal or any other officer of council, to take into his posses sion any horses, mules or horned cattle found running at large in Broad street, between the first days of October and April in each year, and confine such animal so taken up in some secure place, and it shall be the duty of the city Mar shal to advertise the same at some publio place and in one of the public gazettes of the eity fit teen days, taking care to give a particular de seription of the same in said advertisement; if sueh cattle shall be claimed by any person, be, she or they shall be entitled to the same on due proof of property and paying all expenses of taking up, keeping and advertising the same. If said cattle are not claimed at the expiration of fifteen days, itshall bo the duty of the marshal to sell the same and pay the nett proceeds to the city Treasurer. The Marshal or any other officer shall be on titled to the sum of fifty cents for each head of eattle taken up, to be paid hy the owner claimed, and out of the fund, if sold.
