Jolm Carnochan and I’eter Mitchell
of this city have by sundry deed* recently
mortgaged and assigned to divers persons
either tlmir individual creditors, creditois
of the late firm of Carnochan if Mitchell,
or others, all or sundry the property shd
estate, both real and personal, of the sunt
firm, as well as their own individual pro
perty and estate,collating together ol

A wonderful tipence is saved in fuel,
the saw-dust from the pitcb pine islound
answer instead of fire-wood, and is
curried to the mouth of the furnace from
the pit by elevators now in use.
The Rice Machine is also one new prin
pie and found by experience to answer
letter than any yet in use. The quick
lie** und regularity of the movement, pro
ducing it of a superior bright ness with
out breaking the gruin
The mill a situated on a fine Creek,
jailed Cut-Head, on u branch of the Alta
nulia River, und only about half a mile from 1
Darien.
Seu Vessels, whose diaught of water en-
tblea them to go to the wharf at D-irien,
cun load at the Mill, only a short distance
•ff, w th great facility; us ati enclined
plune from the mill, will enable (hem io re
ceive the lumber into their how ports,
almost without cxpencc: and the mill, a*
now in operation, can furnish 40 M. feci ol
plank per day, which may be increased if
found necesuury j the power being amply
sufficient.
The lumber sent from this establishment
since it went into operation has been ul
lowed to he superior in quality and regu
larity in sawing.
The commissioners of the Navy of the
United Ctutes have approved uf the ship
planks, furnished from it, and it is highly
probable will give it a preference in future
contracts.
It ha* also been seen gnd justly admired
in New-Yoi k and Philadelphia.
The prospect of a renewed intercourse
with the British West India Islands, ren'
(era this establishment a desirable mode of
investment—offers, in that having been
made from'case, JAMAICA ALONE, for
about half of all the produce of the saw-mill.
The .present owners have no objection to
continue interested in it to a certain ex
tent, but their other avocation* preolude
their personal attention to it.

Laurel Hill Toll-Mill.
tjpHE loll-Mill on Mrs. Ancrum’s plan-

lately, and Is now ready to work as well as
any other mill on the river. The rough-
rice that will be sent to the mill will he
kept separately in dry and safe stores* and
shall be beat with the utmost care and
economy, and the barrella will be al wa\ s de
livered in good order ^Empty barrels,
made of prime boated staves, will be furn
ished at the mill when required. The
terms for cleaning Rice will be the same
as at the other toll-mills. Those planters
who will engage to have their cro| s beat
at that mill, and keep her supplied, will
have 200 tierces, or n much lens as they
