WASHINGTON HALL.
THE Subscribers have taken that com'
modious and well known public house in
the City of Macon,—the Hashington JIall,
lately occupied by Mr. M. D. Huson.—
By the unremitting attention of both of
them, they flatter themselves that their House will ob
tain for them a general patronage from the Public.—
They have secured the valuable services of a Lady,
whose reputation as a manager of a public house, is
inferior to iu> one in the State.
Their tables will be furnished with the best the couu
try affords, and their bar with the choicest liquors.
The Stables are attended by careful and experienced

Description—MINER is a beautiful dark brown,
with remarkably black legs mane and tail. Iu hands 2
inches high, 5 years old this spring, of fine muscle and
well formed in all particular*. Miller is lialfhrother to
the celebrated race horse Argj le, who is the favorite of
the South. See Turf Register for the pedigree of
Mousietir Tonsou and Collier.
I do certify that the l>ay horse which I have sold to
sir. George B. Robertson, will be five years ojd this
spring, and that he wasgot by Mr. Wm. R. Johnson’s
horse Tonsou, his dam Brenda, the dam of the cele
brated race horse Collier, formerly owned by VVui. Fin
ney and myself. The above (Miner.) I trained the
sprang he was three years old; his first stakes at Fair-
held—first heat !iu.55s. for which he did uot contend;
second heat, he was -beaten.by Mr. Hare’s black colt
(now Black Heath) by about half a length, in the un
precedented time of lin. 51s. (see Turf Register.)
Having an nxlraotdiiiaiy opinion of Miner’s speed and
durability, and this being the best 2d heat I hail then,

" Doctor Elijah Pratt: Dear sir—As I feel it a mat

lessening the terrible r offerings of sore nipples, I have
much pleasure in being able to say that the “ Shield"

heretofore seen. In the two or threeinylances I have
known them to be used, much satisfaction has been

the Long Island Course, N. York, I purchased Mr.
Hare’s Black Heath. The next fall I trained them to
gether and was under the firm conviction, from pri-
vatejjials, that Miner was the best of the two, and ns
an evidence of tha fact, I refuged $1750 for half of Mi
ner, and sold to Mr Richard Adqnis the whole of Black
Heath for 2500, the next day. The spring lie was
fotir I trained him again. In contending for the J. C.
Purse over the Broad Rock Course, he letdown in the
second heat : though let down lie was well up—Irc-
nette winning, Tobacouist distanced. I have no
doubt nature intended him for a first rate four mile
horse, but from some injuryjvhich l never could ac
count for, lie .was unfortunate. Tht3 last race see

and has some very promising cold, and is now iu foal

have seen this horse .Minor, while in training, and
know that ho was considered very promising, ami that
